Why do y’all continue to be surprised and outraged by Covid protocol violations by athletes? Who gives a fuck what Aaron Rogers thinks, says, or does regarding Covid? He’s not a smart person.

After the Dodgers won the World Series and that player who tested positive ran on the field, SoSH wanted the guy arrested. Nothing ever came of it and I don’t recall it starting a super spreader event.

When Tom Brady didn’t wear a mask on the podium he was the worst person in the world. Miraculously everyone around him survived.

Aaron Rogers didn’t get vaccinated and immunized himself with some homeopathic bullshit. Whoopty-fucking-do. He proved to the world that he’s a moron, asshole, AND liar, but he’s still really good at throwing a football. The NFL then proved what we already knew - they are assholes who can’t be trusted to do anything right.

Like others have said, this will blow over as soon as he’s back on the field and leads them to victory. If he wins a Super Bowl he will be a legend to anti-Vader’s forever. The rest of us will remember him for who he is.
You had me up to anti-Vader’s.

I presume moving forward Rodgers will have to follow the unvaxxed protocols, yes? Does that mean he'll have to mask up on the sidelines?

I was watching my regular subscription Hulu last night - which is the only time I ever see commercials anymore - and most of the ads were NYC health officials refuting the stupid propaganda people like Rodgers are spreading - this won’t make you sterile, it isn’t dangerous, it’s helpful.

Obviously, the commercials would exist without Rodgers, but this trick stop deviant looking mother fucker is spewing shit that now had to be refuted, wasting time and lives and forcing me to watch some really dull, repetitive commercials when I’m just trying to relax with some cartoons.

Kind of ironic his alma mater became the first NCAA team to cancel a game due to covid this week. Sometimes this iteration of the universe is funny.

PS - I was watching Rick and Morty, obvs.

There is an in-group and out-group in the NFL. Saints are in the out-group, elite quarterbacks and certain owners (mara's, rooney's, etc..) are the in-group.
Celebrating maskless last year seems worse than what Rodgers did. I think the Packers punishment is laughable, I’m not arguing that point.

You're right, but the question is whether his violation of protocol for nine weeks constitutes repeat violations, which can subject a player to the penalties below per the NFL COVID agreement:
If you are asking if there will be eight more fines, the answer is No, there will not be. Unless maybe he continues his performance.

If I’m Rodgers I just take the fines and don’t do any press conferences or if the media wants to do it they can do it on the field.

This is good advice. Rodgers doesn’t seem to have anyone in his life that gives him good advice. Or if he does, he sure doesn’t listen to them.

The NFL literally makes stuff up as they go along.

I mean, let me just remind people of the NFL's phrasing of the Brady situation. The NFL literally suspended him four games (costing him hundreds of thousands of dollars) because, in their words, it was "more probable than not" that Brady "was at least generally aware of the inappropriate activities" of McNally and Jastremski.

So he was suspended - with the loss of pay - for the likelihood being greater than 50% that he had some vague general knowledge of supposed inappropriate activity of OTHERS in the organization. And THAT impacted the "integrity of the game". And aside from that, the team was fined a million bucks and lost a first and fourth round draft picks.

Aaron Rodgers - during a frigging global pandemic - flaunts the NFL's rules, lies about it, with the full knowledge of the Packers, puts peoples' health at risk, and - oh by the way impacts the integrity of the game because his flaunting of the rules could have affected who actually was playing in games - and he gets a $14k fine, and lets the team handle any other fines related to this issue?

Owners don't really have an axe to grind with the Packers and Rodgers and also no team really wants the NFL getting up in their business over the Covid protocols being followed inside the facility. Goodell acts on internal pressure.

The fine (as of 2014 when Marshawn Lynch tried a media boycott) for refusing to talk to the press? $100k or 7x what Rogers got fined for repeated COVID violations. And you know he'd get fined immediately if he refused to speak to the press, since the NFL can't have that, because press conferences > COVID safety #priorities

Taken at literal, face value, you'd lose that bet. They'll slap the Packers on the wrist with a meaningless fine, offer no explanation as to why they aren't punishing it more strongly, and then wait for all of this to blow over. Which it will in fairly short order.

Edit - they may even take a very low draft pick, but highly debatable as to whether that's significant.

No, that wasn't what I was asking. There was discussion about how the penalty was not nearly harsh enough. I looked up the agreement between the NFL and NFLPA regarding COVID protocols. The question was whether violating the protocols repeatedly for nine weeks would have allowed the league to apply the repeat offender penalties because if not then the max they could've done was fine him 14k, which they did.
