Me: I see you're not vaccinated. You're pretty sick and your Covid test was positive today. Would you like to discuss vaccinations?
Patient: Hell no!
Me: Ok. Well, I'm gonna do everything to try and help you today. Have you heard about MC antibody

My soul dies a tiny bit each time this cognitive dissonance is played out in front of me. And it happens multiple times a day.
In my office they usually then ask for the zoster vaccine, I remind them that zoster hurts but won’t kill you, flu and covid, those will kill you

No I’m good doc

Reading the quotes and excerpts from his interview on the show was bad enough. Sitting down and actually watching it is so much worse.

He’s not just really stupid, he’s unbelievably fucking smug. Dude probably huffs his own farts and touts their restorative qualities in his natural medicine Facebook group.

At this point, he’s basically the Kyrie of the NFL.

I literally have this conversation every shift.

Me: I see you're not vaccinated. You're pretty sick and your Covid test was positive today. Would you like to discuss vaccinations?
Patient: Hell no!
Me: Ok. Well, I'm gonna do everything to try and help you today. Have you heard about MC antibody treatment? It's also on EUA from the FDA. Not as well studied as the vaccines currently available but it does seem to help after someone is infected.
Patient: No. Never heard about those.
Me: Wanna try 'em? We have less data on them than the vaccines which are widely available. It's a one hour infusion followed by a one hour observation period.
Patient: Hell yes! Anything to make me feel better.
Me (inside my own head): WTF?!?! I guess you never heard the parable re an ounce of prevention.
Me: All right, I'll get those ordered for you. Hope you're feeling better soon. We're gonna put a stake in the ground today and get this virus treated. Hopefully, we can get you feeling better soon. Rest easy, I'll get the treatment started soon.
Patient: Thanks doc.

My soul dies a tiny bit each time this cognitive dissonance is played out in front of me. And it happens multiple times a day.
I feel for you. You should sprinkle in "free" and "big Pharma-developed" when you talk about MC antibodies and see if it causes more dissonance.

I think if we had called the shot, "proactive antibody generators" instead of a vaccine, it would have gone over better.

But at the end of the day, as this article - https://www.webmd.com/lung/news/20211004/vaccine-holdouts-embrace-covid-antibody-treatment - mentions, I blame the so-called "leaders" who have pushed the vaccine nonesense while promoting MC antibodies. People wouldn't do this if they had to pay for the MC antibody treatments.

I know it’s Aaron Rodgers, but would it shock anyone if GB cut him within the next week? (Both due to locker room stuff) and perhaps because of the sideshow/distraction this is/will cause for the team?
This is straight up the funniest thing I have ever read on this website.

I think Rodgers is the exact type of person who would rage quit the NFL at the end of the season because people are making fun of him. I expect the retirement announcement (and podcast release) about 72 hours after the Packers lose in the NFCCG.

There was a part of the interview where he talked about following all the protocols except one (wearing a mask when talking to the media). Which he then explained was an unnecessary rule based on his own superior knowledge and logic regarding COVID transmission and risk. It was an incredible mix of narcissism and ignorance and good old fashioned obnoxiousness.

And if the Packers screw up HFA over the next couple weeks their odds of making it to the NFCCG will drop substantially. Edit- I mean if they end up a 3/4 seed instead of a 1/2 seed.

He is worse than Kyrie. Much worse. Kind of shocking how much worse.
I can easily see a world where Aaron Rodgers becomes as toxic as Curt Schilling once his career is over. I get the feeling that we’re only seeing the tip of the iceberg in terms of AR’s true thoughts and feelings.

It’s how this goes, right? He puts some dumb opinions out there, people react negatively and instead of self reflection the reflex is to get further entrenched in your bullshit.

Just imagine how fucking stupid you have to be to refer to "Joe Rogan" as your new best friend that you get medical advice from on anything, let alone Covid.

Rodgers will waltz back in to the Packers after his quarantine and be greeted with a hero's welcome.

At least Kyrie is often just peddling whatever galaxy brain thoughts flit in and out of his head. And he has always been pretty consistent—we know this is his nature, the Platonic ideal of the mercurial point guard.

Such a sad, embarrassing moment. While he happens to be famous enough to have broken the 4th wall and become actually friendly with Rogan, he sounds like any other moron who considers their favorite podcaster to be a close personal acquaintance and the only person who really gets them.

He and Schilling share bunk beds in the room for smug, ignorant, and dangerous assholes, as far as I’m concerned.

Edit: a Costanza-like rant, but I’m leaving it.

I am also trying to understand how he understands how “cancel culture” might apply to him. I don’t think anyone is suggesting he get kicked out of the NFL or cut, except maybe soxhop.

It is entirely possible that some companies might decide that they don’t want him in their commercials. But of course most athletes who want that sort of income pay very very careful attention to their image, and don’t go around being purposefully misleading and arrogant. It seems pretty obvious to me that he was taking a PR risk by making out of the ordinary choices and statements.

Having companies decide you are a bad look and that they do not want to give you money for being you is not exactly the same as cancel culture. Although I suppose it may feel like the same thing if you are extremely entitled.

I, for one, can't wait for his thread title
I mean, the line moved a full 7 points because Rodgers isn't playing and the over under dropped 7 points, too.

No other player in the NFL would cause a line to move that much. Not even Mahomes or Brady. That is a truly humongous move for just one player. The thought that the Packers would release Rodgers is truly inspiring.

Cowboys went from -2.5 to +4 when Dak was confirmed out. I'd think there's only a handful of QBs that can move the line that much.

And no NFL team is releasing them over, essentially, not being vaccinated.

It's not just being unvaccinated. It's a complete heel turn that likely affects many fans' feelings about him and the team. I think the team will probably just hope it blows over, but I don't think you should downplay that disastrous interview and the stupid shit he's likely to continue spouting from here.

I wouldn't take Kyrie on the Celtics if it cost them nothing to acquire him and he played for free. I'd stop watching. I don't envy Packers fans having to root for this guy.

He's not getting cut, but this is bigger than just being unvaccinated.

Rogers knows he's not going to get "canceled"; he's playing the "cancel culture is real and it is harming freedumb" card, trying to garner sympathy, and change the narrative. He's trying to make this not about his choice to lie and endanger other people, but about freedom of choice and his independence, which is a complete straw man argument.

"Cancel culture" is a verbal ploy used by bigoted or selfish assholes to duck personal responsibility for doing something bigoted or selfish that negatively effects other people and get other like minded people to come to their defense and change the subject from their shittiness to something completely unrelated like freedom of speech or the fact that they were not arrested/convicted of a crime. It doesn't have to libs vs. cons, plenty of left-leaning comedians have been held accountable for saying/doing shitty things. You can be 99% sure that if someone uses "cancel culture" in a non-mocking way to describe a situation they're in, they're probably a shitty person who did shitty things and they're trying to avoid being held accountable for their actions.

Throughout the interview, he talks about several different NFL/public health policies and how they aren’t based on science.

But he’s not an anti-vaxx / flat earther type. He’s just against vaccines and all COVID related health policies.

He used it weird after the Bears game too; getting booed by an opposing fan base after swearing at them isn’t cancel culture. It’s sports and society.

Rodgers appears to believe that cancel culture means he should be able to say or do whatever he wants without other people calling him an idiot or a douchebag. I hope State Farm cancels his ass, I was never bothered by him before but don’t want to endure a Sunday with his stupid face on TV every five seconds pushing insurance.

With all the bullshit coming from Rodgers, one of the interesting things is that nobody is really talking about what this means for the football season scenarios. Packers just won a big game with potential HFA implications and now they lose their starting QB for what would have been a huge game.

In addition to being a lying moron, he really hurt his team.

None of what you said changes the stance that people are just pissed he's not vaccinated. Why is it a complete heel turn? Because he's unvaccinated and used the same shitty talking points as other dummies.

He was never the good guy. Anyone paying attention knows he's been an awkward egomaniac from the first day he was drafted. There should be no fall from grace for this dude. He's always been a dick.

Yesterday, for me, he turned from someone who was unvaccinated to a conspiracy theorist and anti-science nut job. Having people like him in high profile celebrity positions is dangerous. We have enough problems in that domain. So I think its much more than just his vaccination status.

Thats where I’m at. He went from being a weirdo dick to a more deceitful version of Kyrie. I can’t imagine this helps his post NFL career.

I am sure he will really will be struggling to eat and survive with the over 200 million he’s made in the NFL. He could leave the league tomorrow and sit on his ass the rest of his life and not have a worry in the world.

It’s not about money. As someone who seems like an egomaniac and has openly gone after stuff like the Jeopardy job, he doesn’t seem like a guy who wants to quietly disappear and enjoy his money.

That isn't the point. Do Aikman, ARod, Smoltz, or Romo need money? Or do they enjoy staying involved with the game?

Just a guess, but trying to become Jeopardy host and shilling for companies on television don’t seem to be about money. As you pointed out, he has plenty of it already. He clearly wants to be in the limelight—as many egomaniacs do. This blowup is likely to narrow his options for doing so upon retirement and so, yes, it’s not a stretch to imagine that this hurts his post-NFL career.

Wisconsin voted Ron Johnson to the Senate. Don't feel for Packer fans. Rodgers will be hailed as a hero.
