Not that I want to appear to be defending Rodgers, but hasn't he wanted out of GB for a while anyway? Seems like he doesn't give two shits about how this impacts the organization and that should come as no surprise. The surprise is that the organization appeared to go out its way to enable him (not following protocols, etc).
So he's even more of a narcissistic asshole.

There's the organization, and then there are the teammates who rely on him and young fans who look up to him. Shame on him.

Aaron Rodgers has ghosted his entire family, and is good friends with Dr. Joe Rogan, who prescribed him horse dewormer, zinc, and a steady diet of elk meat.

What a hilarious timeline.

Wait? Are there people who don't think saunas are fucking amazing? And who don't find themselves wandering off thinking about wild shit when they are in a Sauna?

That post might be the most intelligent, or at least accurate, non fighting thing Joe Rogan has said

The NFL has to nuke Green Bay now. The organization clearly knew that Rodgers was not vaccinated but let him spend weeks blowing the protocols. Blasting GB also lets the NFL try to make this a GB problem and not an NFL problem - the initial NFL statement went out of its way to note that the responsibility for covid compliance sat with the teams.

IDK but I'm betting most people don't think relaxing in a sauna counts as a challenging personal struggle.

Didn't he also say he was worried about JJ vaccine due to clots? The blood clots that only affected women right? This guy is a champion.
The blood clot issue affected 28 people (out of 9 million administered doses), 6 of them men. Three women died. From my understanding and discussion with folks who are involved with the vaccine safety at FDA the initial thoughts were that the blood clot issue could be tied to hormone levels in the body, based off of the fact that it mostly affected women using hormonal birth control. However, the risk for the type of blood clots from J&J is lower than the risk for them on hormonal birth control, so they don't have definitive proof. It's not uncommon for women to have more severe side-effects for medication or vaccines, since there is an underrepresentation of women in a lot of medical research and clinical trials, particularly immunology and oncology. Still, the side effect cases represent less than .00009% of vaccine doses. The odds are in your favor. There have been about 46 million cases of COVID in the US (out of a population of 333 million), and 750k have been fatal. You're more likely to die of COVID than the blood clot.

You guys know what's coming, too, right? Other QBs will get asked about this and some dumbasses will fall into the trap.
In a perfect world, one of them would say, "I hope Aaron dies alone and afraid in an ICU bed."

Fitting, given that he's outed himself as a major horse's ass.

I read the interview on awful announcing. The first thing I thought of was @lovegtm doing his parody of Kyrie a couple years ago.
I thought the "theory" was that ivermectin was in place of a vaccine, not as a treatment. If he took it *after* he got sick, then he's even stupider than he wants us to believe. Or, he's lying again.

The problem is the league knew too, and did nothing whilst Rodgers blatantly violated league rules for unvaxxed players. Now Rodgers has become a new version of Kap (in his polarization, not substantively), so if they go after Rodgers they risk a new “stand for the flag” kind of movement. They might slap GB on the wrist, but it’ll be behind the scenes with little fanfare.

I'm a Packers fan and I can't take this guy anymore. I started to sour with all the selfish crap in the off season with the "trade me" talk. Now I've had it. This selfish prick can't take personal responsibility for anything. And now I discover he's an idiot on top of that. Let the Jordan Love era begin and the Pack can take their lumps while he gets experience.

Screw the scientists. What has Joe Rogan said?
We made fun of Kellyanne Conway when she used her 'alternate facts' excuse when she was caught in a lie back in 2017 but now those point of view chickens are very much home to roost in the era of Covid misinformation.

I sorta admired Rodgers' assholeishness. It was always pretty clear - to me, at least - that he was a pretty smart fellow. I sorta liked that he upset so many people - "That Rodgers thinks he's the smartest guy in the room" etc.

So yeah. Oops.

The thing throughout Rodgers' career is that pretty much nobody has had more excuses made for him and his lack of playoff success than Rodgers. Yet he's claiming the knives are out for him from the woke mob and the media. Fuck him.

Other than the people Rodgers has put at risk (big caveat obviously) this situation is hilarious. Rodgers is an absolute moron and has destroyed his credibility about as quickly as anyone I can remember. What a fucking asshole

And the same tv announcers who wet their pants when a player celebrates "the wrong way," because "children," will go nowhere near saying "it's too bad that someone with a platform like Aaron uses it to spread dangerous misinformation and put people at risk."

yep. He's failed continuously when the lights are brightest, and this moment was just another example.

This time for SURE they are going to do the right thing.

Not to be a perennial victim...but just imagine if this was Tom Brady? Imagine if Brady lied about being vaccinated, then got COVID, then went on a crazy rant defending himself on Pat McAfee's show? Rodgers is getting it pretty good today, but oh man if it was Brady...

I think you should qualify that as Brady *in New England*. He seems to have been afforded a lot more rope by the public in Tampa Bay. The Patriots w/ Brady were enemy #1 for fans of all other teams.

Brady has been afforded more rope in Tampa because he is actively trying to show his personality and be funnier/more likeable. If he did something like this it would all go down the drain in a second. He's still far and away the most hated player in the NFL.

The idea that the league will do more than fine the Packers is a pipe dream.

I mean we had a team whose players were taking off tracking devices and putting them in corners so they could break protocol and avoid coming up as close contacts... they got fined. Not making Rodgers wear a mask is at worst the same level of offense.

You're right in a vacuum. But one thing we know about the league office is that they adjust their responses and penalties based on public sentiment. And here Rodgers is making the league look bad in several different ways. Of course, as someone mentioned upthread, there's 30%+ of the fan base which believes Rodgers is doing nothing wrong, so YMMV on that.

Aaron Rodgers is an absolute jerk and idiot.

The fact that he pulled cancel culture and flat earthers and MLK(what?) into his defense is really sublime. Seriously, what a lying, conniving piece of garbage who put people at risk and cagily lied about it.

I don't disagree, but I think once BB and TB were decoupled the hate towards each became much more run of the mill.

Dak Prescott Pipped Tony Romo, and in a way that we might call it “getting Romo-ed” if not for the historical baseline of Gehrig-Pipp…I’m not a football expert but think I’ve heard talk of Romo being a possible HOF candidate, if you are looking for a high quality candidate.
Tony Romo also Pipped Bledsoe. Drew got pipped twice. He's the winner.

WallaWalla Pipp.

This how Defector's Tom Ley described Rodgers's appearance:
For about an hour, Rodgers mostly monologued about … I don’t even know, man. Try to imagine if someone trained artificial intelligence to speak, but only allowed it to use words that had previously been used on Reddit and Joe Rogan’s podcast.

Breed was on T&R this morning before this whole mess and said that the Packers were pissed after Rodgers press conference this summer where he let it loose. He claims that the Packers tried everything to keep it in house, not let anything leak and tried to accommodate Rodgers and then he got out there and lied his ass off about everything in the presser. Seems to fit the mold.

The NFL should take Packers' draft picks away for knowingly enabling this stooge.

He calls Rogan his "now good friend" meaning he sought out his advice and they bonded over ivermectin and cancel culture and they're now good buds.
