Nice!

You don't want a 'polar' name as the stadium naming rights likely have a finite time limit and may not get renewed down the road.
Stadiums change names frequently.
Minor league team names seem to change just as frequently as the parks, especially when teams change MLB affliliates. Just in the International League there's been some recent changes. Gwinnett County changed from Braves to Stripers last season despite still being a Braves affiliate (think that has to do with the big club moving so close to their neighborhood). Just last month, Syracuse announced they'd be known as the Mets going forward after they were purchased by the MLB's Mets. They'd been the Chiefs forever, except for a decade when they were the Sky Chiefs. The Scranton Wilkes-Barre team went from being the Red Barons to the Yankees to the RailRiders in less than 10 years.

Re-branding for the sake of re-branding is a thing with minor league teams. Just look at the aforementioned Trash Pandas. Or the New Orleans Baby Cakes (née Zephyrs). Or the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp (formerly the Suns). The Worcester team could go with a Polar theme now and just change it should the park get a new name.

Worcester Hearts
(from its ties to Valentines Day Cards - Esther Howland)

A monkey could easily market the shit out of new Heart merchandise. Easy to incorporate into team gear, logo and field design, etc.

Red Sox - Red - Pink stuff...
Profit.

Wait is that why they have hearts on all the street signs? I thought it was because they were in "the heart" of the state.

Thanks - The new Braves stadium isn't really closer than the old to the AAA park. But the AAA team has never drawn as expected. I suspect they are trying to differentiate the two products more.

There's already a collegiate summer baseball team in Worcester called the Bravehearts (inspired by the "Heart of the Commonwealth" nickname), I don't think the WooSox would try to rip that off for their own.

I don't know. I've been a Sox fan in exile here in "Southside" Virginia, so I'm not sure what is up with the Worcester street signs. Until now, I didn't realize Worcester had already adopted hearts in its city marketing. So maybe the "Hearts" would be overkill.

And yeah, the Bravehearts...back to the drawing board.

This place can always use more references to Spag's.
This is awesome. I grew up in upstate NY, but my mother's family was from Rochdale, outside Worcester, so we'd go up there once or twice a year to visit relatives when I was a kid in the 60s and 70s - which is how I became a Sox fan, btw. But we'd always make a pilgrimage into Spags on every trip - I spent hours wandering around that store with my mouth agape and all the STUFF they had!

This is how you end up with a team name like the "Rocket City Trash Pandas" which was voted in by the residents of Madison/Huntsville AL for the team that will soon be formerly known as the Mobile Bay Bears
If that is how such a name is created, then the process bears repeating because that name is great.

Gwinnett County changed from Braves to Stripers last season despite still being a Braves affiliate (think that has to do with the big club moving so close to their neighborhood).
Mombo mentioned it already but it was really just a re-brand to boost interest and attendance. One year in, not looking like it's made any difference. They did a contest for the new name as well, and there were supposed to be prizes for it. A friend from high school was one of the finalists but didn't win - his submission was Gwinnett Buttons, named after county namesake and signer of the Declaration of Independence Button Gwinnett. I think the winner got season tickets.

I went to Worcester once when I was 17 to look at Holy Cross. I had two takeaways of the city. It was 58 degrees and raining, and I got the sense it's always 58 degrees and raining in Worcester. That, and there were more scrap metal dealerships in one place then I can ever remember seeing, and I grew up in Rhode Island. Preface done, I think they should call them the Worcester Hubcaps.

I love some of the funnier ones posted so far: good work, team.

On a serious note: the Worcester Water?

"The Worcester Articulation" would be thumbing our noses at the philistines.

Both keep with the trend of not ending in "s".

A slight tweak on this one - the Worcester Sure Sox, since "shire" in "Worcestershire" is pronounced more like "sure" than "shire." So you get the same wordplay but also the shorter, snappy "Sure Sox" nickname.
Just think of the Beastie Boys tie-in possibilities.

We called that weather “wooing.” (I went to HC.)

What do you consider Southside Va

Edit, I'm between Richmond and South Boston. We just got our first stop light in the county

I suspect they don't go for one of the many, many clever/historically relevant names listed here, and settle on something like the Worcester Green Monsters (or drop the "Green"). Sounds more like a Class-A or AA team to me, but it's pretty ripe for the pickin'.

IMO the most famous person to come out of Worcester was Abbie Hoffman. In honor of the anti-war protester, how about the Worcester Yippies? And while I'm suggesting dated references, the team mascot could be "Pigasus" -- the kiddies would be delighted.

Personally I'm going to elevate H. John Benjamin over Abbie. But I'm guessing we'll have to find a way to work in Tanyon Sturtze.

Would be over the moon over any of the Shire Sauce, War Chesters or Ruby Legs monikers. Nevertheless, here are some other options:

1. Worcester Antiquarians
2. Worcester Candlepins
3. Worcester Smiley-Faces
4. Worcester Heartthrobs
