Pretty awesome basketball games tonight.  I hope this weekend matches up to the last two days.

And wow.  Kentucky.  What a win.

Pretty sure that model has already been validated by his 2012 team.

That team had veterans like Terrence Jones, Darius Miller, and Doron Lamb taking up big minutes; this is all one and done kids or kids that were supposed to be one and dones (Poythress/Cauley-Stein).

I would make an argument to really validate it, you would have to win twice. You can get lucky one time, twice, not so much

I don't see Calipari As any different from Louisville, Florida, Michigan, or any one of 10 otter teams. He is a damn good coach
is this a serious post? He's been proven to be a known cheater and gets caught for it as well. I'm sure the other guys do cheat, but it's not to the degree Calipari goes.

UVA was jobbed by the non call on mich st on that key inbound pass. Was a clear foul but izzo's incessant whining paid off.
So lame. On the plus side I was able to give my son a good in person taste of UVa failure, so he'll be prepared should he decide to go there some day. Son, see all these really cute sorority girls with orange shirts and long, sad faces? Get used to it.

The more Calipari wins, the worse the world is. He even had Bostonians rooting for Pitino.
Maybe, but it's still Mao v Stalin in the Sweet 16.

Kudos to Charles for flipping his pick pre game for exactly the right reason.

Long ago I stopped casting about the virtues of the NCAA. I'm happy for those that can milk the system.

It's fine to say you don't care about cheating, but don't pretend that there isn't a difference.

Among other misdeeds, Calipari committed academic fraud at Memphis and then fled to Kentucky just as his program was going to be shut down.  (How he avoided a "show cause" sanction from the NCAA is one of the great mysteries of the world.)  In a world of sleazy operators, he's the worst and it's not particularly close.

I don't consider Calipari to be a very good coach.  (A good coach doesn't have this kind of talent losing 10 games during the year.)  Calipari's true "talent" is in the black art of recruiting/maintaining eligibility for his players.

How do you separate talent acquisition from coaching in the college game? The former is a huge part of the latter, probably the most important part.

please. You're just jealous

3of thoses to Florida, 1 to UNC and 1 to MSU, so that's 5 games to teams with more talent

Plus 2 losses to Ark in OT and 1 to Baylor, both who give KY matchup problems.

And he has 5 Freshmen starting and a sophomore as his 6th man. They're young, they're not going to be consistent.

But Calipari is a very very good in-game coach, as good as anyone else I've ever seen, in spite of any recruiting cheating.

As a wise friend reminded me last week:  the Jimmies and the Joes usually trump the Xs and the Os.  Cal's got great horses and as long as he gets his frosh into the dance they'll be more than dangerous with 30+ games of experience.  Every year.  And it bugs me because he is a special form of scummy.

Way to start the 2nd half, Flyers. Six straight points on a pair of bombs, time-out Gators.

Patric Young told Rachel Nichols he grew a beard because he's a Red Sox fan.

Find a way to get this beast of a man on the Celtics, Danny.

Patriots. As a 3rd TE, for lob passes in the endzone.

And, today is the Regional Finals.
