Nerdy question -- I know that it's still considered an earned run when a player scores on a wild pitch. But is it really an earned run for the starter when the guy scores on someone else's wild pitch? That seems totally wrong.

Scrub should have thought about that when he left a runner on third.

This is a team that scores a fair number of runs but doesn’t do anything else particularly well. Shit defense, pitching, running, and except for Xander, Workman and sometimes ERod, they are the fucking opposite of clutch.

Likely swept at home in August by their chief wild card rival. So unbelievably disappointing. A ton of talent all just collectively underperforming. They are capable of occasionally putting up a ten spot and it makes you forget that is about all they can do well, and sporadically.

This Rays team is not good at hitting. And yet they have now scored 6, 8, and 7 runs. This Sox team has gone from otherworldly to bad incredibly fast.

Of course Hernandez isn't going to be sharp on his third straight day. It all goes back to Cora completely overmanaging Monday night and chewing through the bullpen for no reason in that game. It has a domino effect for the rest of the week.

This weekend could easily be a funeral for the 2019 Sox season. If they show up in NY this unfocused, then they will get what they deserve.
I went over this last night, but the Rays' schedule gets incredibly easy after tonight. they cannot afford to lose this, which they're probably what, 95% going to do now?

also as far as I saw turning the double play last inning was impossible, but maybe Chavis's throw was that bad.

Yeah, me too. The bottom just kind of fell out, didn't it?

The play of the year so far is Bradley, Jr and Betts both pulling up short to watch a ground-rule double score two and put the game out of reach in Oakland.

It’s like bogey is the only one that cares. I’m sure it’s far from the truth but he’s the only one showing something.
