I'm a little hesitant to start a new thread in the Minor League forum, but I was wondering if we had a thread going for Red Sox Prospects and where they currently are and how far away they are projected to be from the big club?
Personally, I'd been hearing a lot about Devers leading up to his promotion and only know that he wasn't expected to come up this early, but it's also been really good so far.
I had been checking out the 2017 Red Sox Farm System thread, but I don't think it's got quite the information in it. I did find the updated AL East top 10 prospects by each club here, which is in that thread too, but it doesn't seem like we have a place to showcase it all and maybe it's not feasible.
So I was thinking something like:
Closest guy that appears to be joining the Sox for good, or close to making the move to compete for an everyday position (Sam Travis?)
Highest rated prospect, which appears to be Jay Groome now, with Devers playing 3B. But Groome is pitching in A Ball, which likely puts him two to three years away?
Like I said, maybe I'm way off here and it's not possible due to the fluid nature of the kids, but I thought it may be interesting for those of us that find it scary to jump way into this forum.
