First 29 games: 3.27 runs per game
Last 27 games: 6.44 runs per game

Pretty nice improvement, I'd say.

Just the ones when the Red Sox are batting
I wish I knew where to find monthly splits by entire league. I think the gap between May and April this season is a bit more than most, but that's just a guess. Whether it's the ball or other things, I don't know.

Yep. Their pitching has held up too.

First 29 games: 4.07 runs allowed
Last 27 games: 4.11 runs allowed

So that slight uptick (+0.04) is virtually meaningless, especially compared to their huge uptick in scoring (+3.17).
Actually that might be more meaningful than it looks -- I'd look at the values normed against league averages:

March/April: League ERA 3.72
May: League ERA 4.10

Relative to the league, that uptick may actually represent an improvement. Perhaps due to Pivetta and Eovaldi pitching better? Perhaps due to the reduced usage of terrible bullpen pitchers like Kutter Crawford?

Devers since May 7: .358/.429/.698 with 17 doubles, 1 triple, 12 HR, 38 runs, 33 RBI's, 16/33 BB/K in 182 PA

He's currently 6th among qualified hitters in wRC+ (174) and ranks 2nd in fWAR (4.0) behind only Machado.

This is not an original thought, but the Red Sox have gotten healthy in the standings playing against the dregs of the AL. I'm not channeling CHB here, because they deserve a ton of credit for beating those teams and have shown that they have the making of a really good club if things fall the right way. The next 30 days are going to be really interesting, as they don't play a team under .500 other than the Cubs and they have a ton of games with TB and NYY.

Yeah, I think that can explain some of the differences between the Sox and Jays. Jays are 4-8 against the Yankees. Rays are 3-6 against the Yankees. Sox have only played 3 games each against the Yankees and Rays (losing 2 each), and are only 2-5 against the Yankees.

Sox future will be determined based on how they do against the AL East, as it should.

Verdugo's last 133 PA: .298/.346/.436, .324 BAbip.

Now at .251/.294/.373 for the year with a .263 BAbip.

His career slash line going into the year was .290/.348/.444 with a career BAbip of .324.

Kind of uncanny just how close he's been to his career performance over the last 133 PA.

Dalbec's last 37: 109 PA, .250/.330/.427, .308 BAbip. 12bb/28k, 9 xbh. Not great, not terrible.
