BTW, I have made up my mind on the #1 draft pick. It ain't Johnny Football.
you have a QB. Is it really that hard? I'm half sarcastic and half not here...

I'd be willing to go back and put them all in white, or all in yellow, but as of now only some are in yellow.
I went through them and they should all be in yellow now (looks like someone already did it) on the teams page.

BTW, I know some folks haven't been a fan of the stealing, but I think it's been a lot of fun. Teams have different approaches - we've seen older players taken to fill short-term needs (Roddy White, Jared Allen, Mankins, Daryl Smith, Raiola), young upside players who haven't been super-productive yet (Armstead, Montee Ball, McClellin, Blackmon, Johnthan Banks, Jordan Hill), and guys somewhere in the middle (Munnerlyn, Galette, Sean Smith, Mathews, Martellus Bennett). I'm also interested to see how the rest of the draft plays out - whether some teams go pretty much all rookies, some go unpicked-vet-heavy, and some a blend.

Yeah after giving it the go I went through and updated the Team page. So at this point all YELLOW players are off limits. only WHITE players can be stolen (though we're bound to make a mistake so the more eyes on it the better).

I think the stealing rounds have been pretty fun, though it was much more fun before I had a player stolen. The only problem I have is that you can't really predict who you'll lose and cover your bases. You can make a list of those most likely but do I really grab a second C just because there's a chance I might lose one? Now I have a hole in my lineup that either I have to steal with or wait for the draft (which is the fun part of the exercise, making tough decisions). But it seems like everyone went into this with a few holes on their teams, and they will come out with the same number of holes, just at different positions. You're just banking on either losing depth or being a better stealer than the others.

Overall I think it's a good idea, but it can definitely be frustrating.

The big difference between this and real free agency is that in real life you know which of your players are free agents and here it can come as a surprise.

I think some folks might be underrating the pool of talent available among veteran free agents for the second portion of this draft. I lost an ILB in the first round, but aside from the rookie pool I count 10 ILBs who played a significant amount last year and were at least mediocre, and probably 3-4 who were above-average. So losing a player at this point doesn't doom anyone to plugging in a rookie if they don't want to, but we'll all have interesting choices as to whether to go for youth and upside or play it safe with a vet.

I'll take William Hayes, DE from the real life Rams and fake team Broncos

Damn, I figured I'd lose him since he was the next guy on my list of keepers, but it still hurts.  Nice pick.

The Jets take Atlanta C/G Peter Konz and slot him at center.  We feel he is a prospect who will improve from his 2013 season.  With Whitworth and DeCastro teaching him the ways, he will be an asset to our organization.

That's two from my Ravens, so we're done. The spreadsheet has been updated.

Glad to lose my two players before my second pick, so I know what I'm getting into. Konz didn't take the year-one-to-year-two leap I had hoped, so interior OL was a spot I was looking to strengthen anyway; this just makes it official. Tulloch is a similar story; he had a great year last year, but he's a little redundant with David Harris and I needed to get younger with my LB group. I was worried about losing Corey Graham (my best corner last year), so I think I dodged a bullet there a little bit. This has broken decent for me so far, but I had the advantage of drafting like garbage on picks 12-16 or so last year so y'all didn't have too much to pick from.

I almost took Harris and probably would have if I had the opportunity to with my next pick. That may have hurt a little more.

Not what I had in mind with this pick originally; but all my targets have either been taken or their teams are ineligible now. That said, the Vikings are happy to be able to add an offensive threat with the ability of Reggie Bush. Our offense is still a significant weakness, and our RB situation is atrocious. Bush may not be the answer by himself, but he immediately becomes one of the more talented players on our roster, and his ability to catch the ball out of the backfield should be a considerable help to our QBs. Bush has issues staying healthy, but he can be a game-changer and there's few players available with his kind of offensive potential.

Baka's clock is up at 2 PM eastern, right? Sleepjose picked at 9 = 3 hours til midnight = 6 weekend hours, so he's got 6 more hours today starting at 8 AM, which puts us at 2 PM. Or am I wrong? I forget how this works. I PM'd baka last night but it looks like he hasn't been on in a while.

With Reggie Bush being taken, I think the rest of my awesome talent pool is now off limits, correct?

Given that we are almost certainly going to have to replace the soon to be suspended, banned, or released Will Hill, we will take

Matt Elam, Safety, Bills (Titoschew)

We hope that this turns out to be true, as Hill was one of our better players last year, and it is going to be difficult to replace his production.

Yes, the Panthers are off-limits, and with the Elam pick the Bills are, too. The spreadsheet has been updated.

I will start to fill my porous secondary with DeAngelo Hall, CB.

That pick closes out the Broncos. Spreadsheet updated and MSF PM'd.

Teams that have already had 2 picked (14): Steelers, Seahawks, Panthers, Eagles, Cowboys, Ravens, Buccaneers, Chargers, Dolphins, Patriots, Bears, Browns, Bills, Broncos
Teams that have lost 1, 1 left to lose (12): Tactinecks (Titans), Giants, Vikings, Chiefs, Cardinals, Colts, Raiders, Lions, Rams, 49ers, Falcons, Jaguars
Teams that haven't lost any, 2 left to lose (6): Jets, Packers, Texans, Saints, Sentinals (Redskins), Bengals

Sucks to lose Hall, who formed a pretty damn good CB tandem with Patrick Peterson for my Broncos.  But it's also a relief to know I won't be losing LG John Greco or DT John Hughes.

I have to say, I was kind of unsure whether I'd like the stealing policy in RealFantasy, but I've been very impressed with how it has been executed thanks to a great spreadsheet.  Well done, everyone who helped out with this.

I just wish the draft was serpentine.   :smith:

My understanding is that Laddie's clock won't quite have expired if he doesn't pick by midnight, but he'll only have 3-4 minutes left when the clock starts up tomorrow at 8 AM.

Thanks for being so on point with this stuff Dave.  I'm back from Vegas and can help out a bit more now, although slammed with work.  OFT is on the clock, right?
OFT is on the clock, Laddie has been skipped.

Missed this the other day. I think a mix is probably better at this point. Having all vets can be problematic due to people retiring or not playing up to par, and with rookies it's great if they all perform but most need a year or two before you can reasonably predict what they're going to do going forward. With the stealing rounds set up as they are, having a lot of rookies is difficult to manage. I know I'll be apprehensive considering how things worked out this year.

Vikes have now lost two and are off-limits; spreadsheet updated.
Seriously? One pick before me, the Vikings get closed off? Damnit.

Really wanted to add Carson Palmer, who really could have succeeded for our team with the weapons we've got (and mentored whomever we draft). Instead, I'll steal the much riskier Matt Schaub from wibi's giants and hope he can return to form. If he can't succeed with our receivers and RBs, he can't succeed.
