Uggh, Rob started on the back nine today, and made 2 birdies in the first 5 holes, but then made a double on 15, and his usual bogey on 18. Makes the turn at even par, so he's still at -9. Unfortunately, the cut line has moved to -8, so he's now played himself back into butt clenching territory. Hopefully, he finishes strong, but we've seen this dance a few too many times.

If shot tracker is correct, he just missed his third fairway in a row. Usually, the sign that things are coming undone.

Couple birdies coming in, and he finishes the day at -11, tied for 33rd. A couple shots out of the top 15. A good day tomorrow would be really, really nice.

Looks like it's playing harder today. Rob is -2 at the turn, and he's all the way up to a tie for 18th. GET HOT NOW.

Shot a +2 38 on the back 9 to finish at T42. Moved up from 124 to 123 in the FedEx Cup. Early on, but right on the bubble as is his usual.

In the field for Tiger fest at Torrey this week.

I am not sure Tiger will like having to share the headlines

9:50 start today on #10. Playing with Sam Ryder and Tyler Torano. They're one group behind Justin Rose, Hideki Matsuyama, and Phil Mickelson so there might be some lingering crowds milling about.

Rob plays this weekend at The AT&T pro am. 10:15 start time at Pebble. I see his amateur partner is "Calhoun," which I'm going to guess is former NE and UConn coach Jim Calhoun. If so, another reason for me to root for Rob, although I'm sure there are many out there that don't feel the same way. Lol.

Question - generally speaking, which if the three courses this weeekend is the most difficult?

Rob with a shout out on the Golf Channel. Moves to -5 with another birdie.

Pebble is Rob's favorite course. He has tons of experience there. It was one of the only events he played on Tour last year, and he finished 8th. He plays with the CEO of Pebble Beach every year, Perrochi (a Massachusetts native), who is a close friend. Last year, they were paired with Belichick and Koepka, I believe.

I know it was a 3 day cut, so there might be some weird quirks, but right now, it has Rob above the cut line at -3, but there is a group of guys that were cut that were also at -3. Did Rob make the cut or not?

I think he made it. The app has all -3 guys inside the cut.

He may fall in as an MDF. I can’t remember for sure, but I’m almost positive they send out fewer guys than normal tomorrow since they only use Pebble and they still have the amateur tournament. Pros could miss the pro cut but have to play for the pro am, so the numbers end up wonky. The -3’s may be MDF’s.

Actually, the PGA website just adjusted, so now it's showing all of the -3's as making the cut, whereas half were below the cut line before. Hopefully, he's not an MDF. Considering he's playing with the head of Pebble Beach, maybe they can just change the rule if they need to.

Looks like Rob is 2nd on the alternates list this week at Riviera. Keep an eye on any WD’s the next 2 days...

Rob is E (+4) through 12 today after birdies on 1 and 2 (started on 10).
Cut line projected at +2. So yeah. Another typical nail biting last 6 holes.

Yeah, PGA National is one of the tougher regular tour stops. Wind is blowing today too. From the morning group, only 9 players are under par.

Rob’s starting on the back 9, which is the tougher side.

+5 yesterday and +1 through 13 on the day today. Cut is currently projected at +4 but lots of high numbers being posted. Going to be another interesting afternoon.

Nailed a 28 footer on 18 to get to +6, still projected cut at +4.
77 at 4 or better, 91 at 5 or better for now so going to need some big numbers. But gave him a chance at least.

Looks like he put a ball in the water to double 11 yesterday. Take that one shot away....

Cut has moved to +5 but there are 15 on it right now with 8 of them already in the clubhouse, so I imagine that's as high as it will get unfortunately.

It might move still, maybe 15-20% chance. There are 9 still on the course at 4, plus still some at 3 and 2

What is the cut? 70 people, so 13 more?

Good start this morning -3 through 8. He started on the back nine today, which gave him trouble and he played at +1, so very positive.

If he can string together a good round maybe -5/-6 today he should be close to top 10 going into the weekend.

Poor Rob - three putts 18 to end up tied for 71St and miss the cut.

And the last player on the field appears to have missed a 3 foot putt and allowed all 20 -3 players to make the cut?

Shot an early morning 66, which moved him to T19. Will slide back a bit, but a nice round. Should bump him up a few spots in the FedEx standings.

Yep, that's a big day for him. Currently sitting at T18, but should easily get a top 25 out of it. More importantly, it's probably his best weekend round in a year or so. Hopefully, he'll gain some confidence back and be able to make some noise in the non-Masters events coming up.
