Gotta get another old guy for Yandle to hang with. When he wins faceoffs and can drive some offense, I'll take that.

I like my idea of moving to the next person every 24 hours of a missed pick. Even if someone misses a whole week, who cares about 7 spots in the 12th round of this thing?

Sorry, I didn't see the message until noon today and was at work.

Colin White, RW

No one really likes white people right now.? It's a stretch. I'm tired. Hopefully getting him out of Loserville Ottawa gets his game going.

Three weeks between picks and the guys we are looking at are all still available? We could go a number of different directions here but it's hard to pass up a solid two way all-situations center who will check and annoy the opposition to no end. His 30 goal season was a fluke but he's a solid 30-35 ES points per season while clicking in at about 55% on faceoffs. Consider him a poor man's Bergeron. And he's only 26 with a reasonable cap hit (3.75) for another couple of seasons.

Since @ mentioning people doesn't ping them, could we just start PM'ing the next person in line? I'd prefer that to skipping, but a combination of a PM and then skipping after <whatever time period> seems reasonable.

I'll pick guy for my RW3 who opened my eyes last year with the Bruins. I wish they could have brought him back but I understand why they didn't. He's a middle 6 player and can play both wings with some scoring pop and a decent overall game.

Do I want to pick a Canadiens player? Fuck no I don't. At this point in the draft, can I continue to keep passing on this guy just because he's a Canadiens player? Not really. The key piece of the Max Pacioretty deal, this rookie has shown that the offensive prowess he showed in the OHL was no mirage, putting up 41 points in 71 games, and finishing the season on a bit of an offensive tear. More surprisingly, he also showed himself to have some real defensive skill, as while his surface numbers weren't great, the advanced metrics showed he was better than those numbers indicated. The Penny Pinchers will tentatively put him at 3C for now, although with Elias Lindholm currently at 1RW there's definitely some lineup flexiblity and it's possible that things may be moved around a bit as the lineup develops further. Jeremy Jacobs' Penny Pinchers are mildly irritated to select Nick Suzuki, C

Travis Sanheim, D. He's young and has shown considerable improvement YoY in his game. Can skate like the wind and, even though he was billed as an offensive defenseman coming into the league, his defense appears to have caught up and has been on the second PK unit for Philly. Solid analytical profile and only 23, so room to grow. And he's a lefty. I need those on the backend.

Been circling him for a while but finally taking Ilya Mikheyev, RW. Playing his off-wing, but he already does that. Only one year in the US after coming over from Russia. 25 years old and has established himself as a top 6 guy in Toronto. Plays a heavy game and can play on both the PP and PK. Needs to do better in his shot selection but should hopefully regain some of his strong play at the end of the season before he missed some games towards the end due to his wrist getting sliced by a skate.

With Nick Suzuki on the roster, I wanted to be able to give him a dependable wing who knows how to play with a gifted offensive center, and who can provide defense, grit, and do all the dirty work while still being able to bury the puck when Suzuki gets it to him. He'll also immediately pair up with Couturier on the top PK unit, allowing Lindholm to move down to centering the 2nd unit, giving the Penny Pinchers an elite core of PKers. Plus, he's signed to an absolute bargain of a deal for another season. Jeremy Jacobs' Penny Pinchers select: Zach Hyman, LW

Evgenii Dadonov (31) - Nate MacKinnon (24) - Elias Lindholm (25)

You fucker. I had typed out picking him before Suzuki, but figured I'd roll the dice he'd make another loop back to me. I had him head and head with Pettersson.

Sorry guys I fell asleep at the switch. Again lots of ways to go but we'll keep filling out our third line with someone who can play up or down as needed. About 40 ES points per season while still only 23 years old. We'll start him on third line but that's subject to change.Very low cap hit for this season but he's a RFA so we'll keep some dry powder in reserve.

Think we'll just slot a 20 goal scored on our 3rd LW while we can.
He's dad played for Canada. He played for the US. Traitor!
He married his college sweetheart. He volunteers for libraries. What kind of monster is he?

I figure we can also have "stuart over parise!" posts on our team's message board which is always fun

Looking for a proven scoring winger that plays a two-way game to round out my top 6 - I was hoping for a JT Miller type but saw he went in round... 1

Between here and everywhere.
There are 3 players - all who I would absolutely love to have with this pick.

Ultimately - championships are won down the middle.

Martin Necas, CAR, C

He's young, gifted offensively, and already plays a very solid two way game. As a 21 year old he put up 16g and and 20a in 64 games. He's 6'2, and 190 now, so he has some room to grow into his frame. The C's on this team are all young, dynamic, and cerebral players. While they are a bit inexperienced (with Charlie Coyle being the senior statesman), they already have some significant playoff experience and know what it takes to win.

Alex Debrincat (5.1) / Elias Pettersson (925) / Mitch Marner (10.893)
Max Domi (3.150). / Charlie Coyle (5.25) / Jake Virtanen (1.250)
Rob Thomas (894)
Martin Necas (832)

Brandon Carlo (2.85) / Thomas Chabot (8.0)
Hampus Lindholm (5.205) / Esa Lindell (5.8)

Igor Shesterkin (925)

Ownership of Putin's Secret Stash is very angry at the number of Russian players being taken by other teams and has designated the players on those teams as defectors. Get used to North America boys your assets are about to get seized back home.

PSS's Red Juggernaut picks Right Wing, Vladislav Namestnikov, currrently of the Colorado Avalanche.. He's fromVoskresensk about 60 miles from the capital. A quaint city of almost 100,000. His dad Evgeny played for the Canucks and his uncle is Slava Kozlov primarily of the Red Wings. Vladmir is extremely proud of his breeding programs.

I think he's an overrated player but he's still only 23. I'm really surprised he's still on the board: Noah Hanifin, D, CAL. He'll pair nicely with the guy he was traded for on my top pair.

I think I should just give up posting cap numbers because every time I go to choose a player I choose the most expensive dude I can find. This guy has the unfortunate history of being traded for a MUCH better player. That doesn't make him bad at all, but I think it's a trade the Blackhawks would want back. He will slot in next to old friend Nick Schmaltz on the third line and cover for some of his defensive shortcomings. He is a historically very good possession and XG player who scores 20 goals and 45 points every year but 1 since he came into the league in 2012. He can play both wings as well.
