Yeah, he dives. And yeah, he's annoying. But he can also run a pp. And score now and then. And .. well .. I'm sure something else.
And Lindsey Vonn will be hanging around which is kinda cool I guess?

I take it you haven't seen his stats the last couple of years.

Lindsey Vonn is apparently the only thing he can score on these days.

Sean Monahan, C/RW

We'll pencil him in as 2 RW right now, but could drop him to 3C depending on how the rest of the draft shakes out.

Gaudreau - Eichel - Stone
XXXX - Dubois - Monahan

Heiskanen - Jones

In an effort to further prove I don't know what I'm doing here, and after realizing my team was far too old for my liking, I am selecting:

Clayon Keller, C

A 20 goal scorer at 19 on a really, really bad team, he started to put together his possession game this year with a tidy 3.9 CF% rel, and would have had 20 goals again if it weren't for that pesky COVID-19. He will slot in at #2 center (for now) and learn all he can from PROVEN LEADER JT Miller.

He's not as young as we'd like here on The Swedish Continuum - but he's young, he's close to being a stud, and he adds some much needed defensive skills to a young - offensive defense core.

HAMPUS LINDHOLM, D, ANA - come on down!

Long wait between picks saw several of my targeted rats come off the board. I need a legit top 6 center that can play in all situations and was a little surprised to see this guy still available. Bit of a late bloomer, but he's coming into his own.

The Cup Checks select Blake Coleman, C

If you said that Putin's Secret Stash was going to go young(for us) and pick a man whose ex-wife was a Silver Medalist in Rhythmic Gymnastics (she was robbed in Ribbon) then you'd be right.
Closing out our 2nd Line at RW Alexander Radulov, Dallas Stars

Still don't have a top line or top pair, but filling out the goalie position with Frederik Andersen, G, TOR, the only ginger goalie I could think of

Putin clearly a fan of offense above all else...

Since we don't care about salary cap in this exercise, I'm going with Shea Weber, D, Montreal. He will add much needed experience to a pairing with Ivan Provorov. I am taking a risk due to Weber's age and injury history but he's had a really good season this year with 15 goals and 21 assists in only 65 games.

I'm feeling good about the size and two way ability of our top line and would like a little more goal scoring. Our next pick was picked 11th overall and has shown flashes over his career before really coming into his own this season. He has 53 points in his last 54 games after a slow start in October and we're hoping he can keep that up playing to Barkov's left.

It feels like this is the round where the depth really starts to matter. I have about 5 guys I really want and I don't think any of them will be back.

I can't pass up the speed, size and skill combo that my next pick brings. Goaltenders beware.

LW- Chris Kreider - New York Rangers

Fiala (3.0)-Barkov (5.9)-Meier (6.0)
Kreider (4.6)-Larkin (6.1)-xxx

Cap number - $39.2
remaining space - $42.4
Roster spots remaining - 12
Avg cap hit remaining - $3.53m

edit- added in cap info

Burst literally took who I wanted in Kreider, so I will go back and re-live this year's trade deadline and the debate here.

I will take Kyle Palmieri, LW/RW, NJ. He adds a ton of scoring and leadership for a young group of forwards. He could play on either the 1st or 2nd line and be fine.

Oops, didn't realize we straightened that out. I'll take Ryan Johansen, C, NSH. Really liking my depth down the middle with him at 3C

When the league leader in PIMS is still on the board and happens to be a perennial 20+ goal scorer I have to add him to my team. The Cup Checks select Evander Kane, LW

Between here and everywhere.
I think he's ready. Inconsistency has always been a thing with him, but his possession numbers are stellar and he exudes leadership. I need a #2 center and he's the guy that's going to do it.

He's the oldest player on my team so far, but he has a SCF run under his belt and I think embodies the culture The Southie Club wants.

Populating line 3 before starting your second d-pair or taking a goalie? Just PSK things. He's an even-strength horse.

This guy sucks, he's overrated
You're right!
And he's soft. How many times has he's been out?
A lot.
And his contract?
It's ugly. WAY overpaid.
What does he really bring?

Oh, 23 points in a cup run?
26 in another finals run?
A heck of a lotta points when you finally find a winger for him?

David Krejci, C

(plus we need to have at least 1 Bruin, right?)

Kind of surprised this guy was available. A very good two way center who scored 30 goals last season and was on his way to another 30 goal season before a season ending injury. He slots in nicely as my second center bumping Forsberg to the wing but allows me the option to drop either to third center. And for the bean counters in our organization his cap hit of $5.625 isn't too bad.
