03/26/14 - 2014 Pro Days: Trio of Wolverines star at Michigan Pro Day...Wideout Jeremy Gallon built upon his own sparkling showing in Indianapolis during the Pro Day workout, however, recording a 10-10" broad jump and a 39.5" vertical -- explosiveness which complements the 4.49-second 40-yard dash he ran at the Combine. At just 5-foot-7 (1/2), 184 pounds, Gallon lacks the size scouts would prefer and he is competing against a receiver group that is as deep and talented as any position in the draft. He's a proven playmaker who recorded a career-high 80 receptions for 1,284 yards and nine scores as a senior and could prove a steal if still on the board in the late rounds. - Rob Rang, NFLDraftScout.com

12/05/13 - 2013 ALL-BIG TEN SECOND TEAM (MEDIA): Jeremy Gallon, Michigan, Receiver...Gallon, whose 1,284 receiving yards in 2013 rank second all-time on U-M's single-season list, received his selection from both the coaches and the media. - Michigan football

10/22/13 - In Michigan's shootout win over Indiana, 63-47, on Saturday, senior wide receiver Jeremy Gallon showed why some scouts believe he has top-100 potential. He finished with 369 receiving yards, setting a new Big Ten and Michigan record and coming close to the FBS all-time mark (405 – Troy Edwards, Louisiana Tech). Gallon did a nice job getting open and then once he had the ball, he didn't waste time stretching the field and finding the end zone. His short, built stature is reminiscent of former Notre Dame wideout Golden Tate, who went on to be a second rounder of the Seattle Seahawks. Gallon entered the 2013 season with draft grades all over the map, many scouts thinking he was undraftable. But performances like his on Saturday make it impossible for next level decision-makers to ignore his playmaking ability. - Dane Brugler, NFLDraftScout.com

10/21/13 - WEEK 8 COLLEGE FOOTBALL STARS: Jeremy Gallon, Michigan, had a Big Ten-record 369 yards receiving and two TDs against Indiana. - AP Sports

I like this pick a lot.  Perfect type of guy to take in the 7th round.  Kind of a poor man's Brandon Cooks.  Caught a ton of balls at Michigan, without having the greatest QB's throwing to him.  I think he's a good route runner, and has very good hands.  Obviously very small,  and doesn't have blazing speed to compensate, but neither do guys like Welker and we've made them work.  Probably ends up on the practice squad or something, but I think he can push guys like Dobson and Boyce in camp, and who knows.  Maybe he jumps ahead of one of them.

Jeremy Gallon had a 39.5-inch vert and 10-foot-10 broad jump at his pro day Those are elite numbers.

One of the few bright spots for Michigan these last four years, good kid by all accounts, hard worker, gym rat, scrappy, all those cliches apply. Michigan used him almost exclusively on the outside, but definitely profiles more as a slot guy in the pros, great hands, terrific body control, quality route runner. I suppose using him on the outside isn't out of the question seeing as Deion Branch made a career out of it with similar size, and Gallon has the same surprising blocking ability and will win some jump balls against bigger guys.

Viable punt return option, he never overly impressed me in that regard, but outside of his freshmen year he was very reliable.

The video title is inaccurate. It's a wide open and unchallenging catch, but he does evade the gauntlet of defenders rather impressively.

Showed tremendous growth as a player during his college years. He was a hot mess as a (RS) freshman, but just got better and better.

He competes his ass off, and did not have good QBs throwing to him, as DOTB mentioned.

Doesn't shy away from the big moments, as he had some of his best games on national TV.

Obviously, his height is an issue, but I hope he at least makes the practice squad. He's the type of kid that will endear himself to the staff. He will do anything to get on the field. Reminds me a little of Squirrel.

I would think he might fit into some of BB's special teams schemes.

I don't know if he has the skills to get open in the NFL, but he will work his ass off and he will get Belichick's complicated receiver trees. Great pick. I like this guy as much as I dislike Taylor Lewan.

I actually loved Gallon from what I saw of him in the Michigan games I caught. Great hands, great route running and body control. Not sure why we need yet another slot receiver but like others have mentioned BB has never been afraid to use smaller guys on the outside. Brady must have had some input on this one. (mildly kidding)

Looking at Michigan's stats, he returned punts (but not KOs). To those who watched him a lot at UM, does he look like a NFL-quality punt returner?  Not that the Patriots don't already have a great punt returner; just askin'.

I don't think the return game is his greatest strength, no. He's short and elusive, but probably not so much so that that's a plus skill at the nfl level.

Body control, route running, and coming down with jump balls were his main college gifts.

I think he's got surprisingly high upside for a tiny guy without elite speed, but obviously may also not be able to play at this level too. He's more boom and bust than most guys of his general profile I think. (Which isn't to say I think he's a star - probably going to wash out, like most picks in his range).

I can see the poor man's Givens resemblance actually. My favorite pick of the weekend.  I've always liked his attitude; he seems like he has fuun and by all accounts a hard worker, and it's gonna be tons of fun rooting for him.   He's a playmaker, especially for a short 7th rounder. But we have experience there.

'Elite speed'. Wow, reads as a faster, more athletic Wes (Julian) . Possibly Brady's new binkee.

Gallon is an inch shorter than Welker, who's 2 inches shorter than Edelman who, other than being white, isn't really that similar of a player.

I've watched almost every mich game during gallon's time, and he was always a guy I thought could be a fit for the pats. His improvement during his time at mich made me think he's a guy who "loves football." Good route runner. Good hands. Really tough kid who isn't afraid to take a hit. I liked him as a punt returner more than others apparently. Also, I think he can play outside or inside. Love the pick

After watching those college videos, he definitely doesn't look like he has elite speed.

I know next to nothing about Gallon but its hard to imagine a 5'7" guy playing outside in the NFL for significant snaps.  Too many throws have to go into high windows and he'll just get swallowed up by bigger press-coverage corners out there.

That right there is perhaps the biggest difference between the college passing game and the pro passing game. In college, you can get away with throwing the ball up for grabs. There are few corners who really know what they're doing. In the NFL, you need a Calvin Johnson type if you want to throw it up for grabs.

What I should have said is that he's versatile. Played a lot on the outside at mich but has shown the toughness and field awareness to play in the slot.

Interview with Gallon before draft saying he hoped to be drafted by the Patriots. Pats only team to work him out.

Measuring 5-7, Gallon knows his days of playing outside receiver are over, even though thats where he set the Michigan single-season yardage record last season.

His focus preparing for the draft is on improving at the new spot, so hes studying players his size who have excelled in the NFL, no matter which spot they played.
