Nice guy. Had a couple of drinks with him several years ago and chatted about baseball.

Hard to believe he was that old. Seems like not all that long ago he hosted Kiner's Korner after Met's telecasts.

If you hit 51 HRs (or any number for that matter) in 1947, you'd be pretty old. Kiner was an example of a guy who makes the HOF without great lifetime stats but with a great concentration of stats in a few years.  He led the National League or tied for the lead in home runs each year from 1946-52. Lifetime, he hit 369, with 1015 RBI and a .946 OPS. Curious that his league leading number in 1946 was just 23, and he hit 51 the next year. 1946 was not a war year.

Good years in NY listening to him. Loved him and he's missed.

7 years is a pretty long peak, but yet it still took until his 13th attempt to enter Cooperstown.  Those Naval pilots sure can hit the ball.

Ralph is gone, goodbye.
