I guess Detroit's TV broadcast doesn't buy into the jinx nonsense. since it says "NO-HITTER THRU 7 2/3" right underneath the score.  Good for them.

Thru 8 now.

It's going to suck when they change that error to a hit.
Is Jerry Remy the official scorer at Dodger Stadium these days? I swear he thinks an infielder has never made an error.

Kruk was advocating for it right after the scorer made their decision

How does a division leading team this late in the season get no hit twice in 10 days?

Arrieta just said he thought it was a hit, credit for honesty.

Seriously.  This woman is a moron.  But I'd like to hear her views on evolution.

You guys don't get it. SaltLake gets it.

Hopefully Curt has been Wally Pipp'ed tonight.  ALS has come full circle.

How's that cake tasting again Don? Twice in 9 days. Enjoy it.

She started a bit slow but really knows her stuff.  She's better than 90% of the morons ESPN runs through there.

Jessica Mendoza is in booth replacing Curt on ESPN tonight. She played Softball for Stanford, Olympic Gold and Silver in 2004 and 2008.

So yeah. She understands the game. I thought she did well and was not annoying. What more can you ask for? Good job Jessica. Eat it Schilling, you could have been there for the no-no! That's what you get for putting your foot in your mouth.

For some reason I end up with Jake Arrieta every year when I do an MLB The Show Fantasy Draft.

Of course, I miss his no-hitter because of kids and stupid ex-wife bullshit.

Admittedly I didn't see most of the game but I found the comments I heard to be pretty underwhelming.  At one point she was saying that LA should bunt, not to try to get the tying run to the plate, but because they needed to see the ball longer into the bat or something.  You may disagree but that's nonsensical to me.  At some point they were going to need to get a couple of hits to win the game.  One guy bunting in the middle of the game wouldn't accomplish that.

She may be better than a lot of ESPN analysts but that's a pretty low bar.

Finally saw the replay.  That was a hit.

But it's hard to get too excited about it. Better this way than having a pitcher lose a perfect game on an umpire's blown call.  Plus, if you're the Dodgers you can just end the controversy by, you know, getting a clean hit.

I don't agree. That ball was hit right at him. It was hit hard, but he's got to make that play.

Totally agree that's a hit and surprised the home town scorer didn't grade it as such. That ball was scorched. Not a big deal either way, but it should have been a hit.
