I woke my wife to alert her to this. She opened one eye. Saw the bid ended on the next pitch. And then quietly chastised me for jinxing it and went back to sleep.
My bad.

Pitch count now over 100, through 7.1

On a related note, I like the Brewers unis.

EDIT: Only 1 ball out of the infield? Wow.

I wasn't watching or following any sports tonight. I went to ESPN.com about 5 minutes ago, they had "Maeda 3 outs from no-hitter" blasted on the headline. I click the box score, see that he gave up 1 hit, then go back to the home page and its headline reads "Maeda loses no-hitter"

That was a fun no hitter to watch the final three innings of. That final fastball he left in the zone was scary, I thought it was broken up off the bat. Regardless, Giolito is going to be a big name for a while I think.

It took him a little longer than I expected, but I've been waiting for his breakout season since, like 2013 when I joined a dynasty league and he was in my minor league system. Love seeing him finally make the leap.

I checked on the last out of last nights no hitter. It was the hardest hit ball of the night (of 14) off Giolito . 106.6 mph off the bat with an expected BA of .850. I bet it was slicing toward the line too. Only one other batted ball had an EBA above .350.

This is only the second time they've let him reach 100 pitches and he looked spent by the end of the last inning. I'm rooting for him/the Royals here. Cleveland's lineup is such an inexcusable disaster this year they deserve it.

He only got five swings and misses the whole game, strange.
