Figured I'd start this now before I forget. I'd think we'll see all the starters for a half.
You would think, but I almost feel like BB has decided to skip them all with all the key guys. Is there a good place to find who played and who sat out, for previous year's preseason games? I feel like there have been a few high-profile instances of guys sitting out all of preseason to no ill effect (Moss 2007, Gronk some time, maybe even Brady).

OTOH, it seems like the usual procedure for most starters/vets is a few plays in game 1, a few series in game 2, then a half or more in game 3.

But this year, there have been a large number of guys who have played zero snaps through the first two games. So I wonder if we simply don't see any preseason action from a large number of starters.

I think this year's total lack of starters is based on two things: 1) joint practices for both the first two games. Those guys are getting quality reps in practice, there is less need to get them in game situations. 2) the short week between games 2 and 3. It doesn't make a lot of sense to ask a vet to play Saturday and then turn around and play again five days later in the preseason. So I think we'll see game 3 treated normally (starters play roughly half) and game 4 treated normally (the scrub brigade!).

I think Brady will play the 1st half plus 1 or maybe 2 series in the 3rd (after making patented adjustments) and Hoyer will finish.

Just stay healthy please.

I just read that tonight the Pats will be playing the Panthers during the preseason for the 5th time in the last 6 years, most (all?) of which have been in PS Week 3. Couple that with the long-standing PS Week 4 game against the Giants, and I ask: who schedules preseason games? The teams or the league?

And why the repeated games against CAR and NYG?

This is a complete guess, but maybe since they don't play division opponents in the PS and there is likely a desire to limit travel, these are two of the teams that are closest without being in the division?

Gunner over Berrios for the first punt. Berrios isn’t going to make it. He is looking more and more fungible each week. There is not a clear path to him getting snaps at WR or being on the active game day roster each week this season. A guy like Gunner might have a similar ceiling, albeit more runway to get there, but he’d be easier to slip to the practice squad.

Alright. Already a couple good teaching moments for the kids on offense. Wynn with a brutal missed block on a screen, then Jakobi Meyers cuts his route short when he should have kept taking it up field.

This is what the pre-season is for. Clean this shit up now rather than when the bullets are flying for real.

I believe Zo just dropped an F-bomb on the stream during the break.
