Kicking off the weekend action with a London derby. West Ham host Chelsea. Nae rooting interest, all I ask for is to be entertained.

I could certainly see that pen being given, but it seems consistent with the way the match has been reffed so far, allowing a good amount of contact for the most part by both teams. But yeah, no real complaints from Chelsea if it had been given, not a great play by Fofana.

Ya not very impressed by Lopetegui so far... had to bring Guido off because of how badly the midfield is coping with something simple like Cucurella tucking in from LB when Chelsea are in possession. No creativity going forward if it falls to anyone but Paqueta or Emerson. Summerville is giving Fofana hell every time he gets the ball and he's been the outlet on 2-3 occasions all half.

Other than the treatment of the badge, that is one mighty fine looking Chelsea kit

Neto should not have gone to Chelsea. I saw him in person last year at Goodson. It was eye opening- easily the best player on the pitch. The pace of a top winger, but stronger, heavier, and mean, mean, mean. He’s lost in the shuffle in this bloated squad.

Amazing how clean a shirt looks without a goofy sponsor.

CFC still has things to work on, but their attack will ruin teams who aren’t ready for them this season.

The five sub rule definitely helps, as Chelsea being able to bring all of Nkunku, Neto, and Felix off the bench with fresh legs is a nice advantage for them to take advantage of. Spending wildly and inefficiently sometimes pays off, I guess.

Knives are out for Dyche and I fear for the turmoil if Toffees don’t win at Leicester today.

Depsite abundant eye-test and statistical proof that the defense- rock bottom in the big 5 European leagues- is much worse with them in the side, Dyche has started Ashley Young and Michael Keane again.

Unlike recent seasons Everyon have shown some attacking verve. DCL McNeil and Ndiaye look very good. But a Dyche side is supposed to do at least one thing well and that is to defend. With these guys on the pitch it’s abysmal. I’d seriously rather play a man down for 90.

Watching the Spurs match on the side with no audio, but Vicario handling it 4' clear of his area isn't reviewable?

Hugely needed three points for Spurs, with Solanke getting on the board.

Martinez did get a yellow for the double foot stomp. I thought they'd review it as possible red. If they did, it didn't take em long.

California. Duh.
The Mancs dominated most of the match but are actually a bit lucky they didn't lose. Palace had a couple really good chances.

Watched on the plane. CP's halftime subs settled things down for them defensively.

Also, I don't remember the Boston fan fest having video games, Patrick Viera and a fan shop. All we got was Sheamus from WWE, right? What is the FA doing? Comping Kier Starmer and marketing in the US?!

I just saw this. Coote is unfit to be a match official. There is plenty of precedent that an act that endangers an opponent need not make contact to show the red.

Akanji's celebration seeing the referee reach into his pocket was pretty funny.

What's the point? City are almost impossible to beat and then the referees just come to the rescue if they're in danger.

It was two minutes past the time when the whistle should have blown to begin with and while Trossard was reckless there were plenty of challenges earlier in the half just as reckless/forceful that weren't booked, starting with Haaland's aerial challenge on Saliba.

The NBC crew were pretty brutal in ripping the call. As a neutral, I don't think it was worthy of a booking BUT Trossard is also a known shithead who already had picked up an unnecessary yellow earlier in the half.

As a neutral Tottenham supporter? Or do I have you confused with someone else?

edit:he’s on a yellow.. but it doesn’t change the fact that t second foul wasn’t a yellow card offense.

edit2: another delay of game yellow.. lol fuck off epl

Not a yellow or second yellow, especially when Haaland was given a foul for a similar challenge on Saliba earlier in the match. Quality of refereeing in the PL is unacceptable right now, and it's mostly not because of individual errors. It's a structural issues with the standards PGMOL and Howard Webb have instituted.

Sir, I would say I'm rooting for Arsenal in this game.
