Post-Draft Roster Assessment - Winners and Losers

Winners: Ridley; Vereen (and his fantasy owners); Dobson and Thompkins; Siliga; Harmon, Ryan, and Beauharnais; Gostkowski
Losers: Boyce; Connolly

Jemea Thomas might spell bad news for the Nate Ebner or Tavon Wilson era. Lots of talk of him being a safety and special teamer, how many of those guys can you have?

Also might be time to replace Bequette with Zach Moore as the designated weekly inactive DE.

Jemea Thomas might spell bad news for the Nate Ebner or Tavon Wilson era. Lots of talk of him being a safety and special teamer, how many of those guys can you have?

They could see him as Kyle Arrington's backup in the slot and long-term successor. There's a lot of overlap between the slot corner role in the Patriots' D and a traditional strong safety role.
 
That said, Tavon Wilson is on thin ice as it is. Ebner's a little more secure, I think - he's a really good special teams player, maybe their best coverage player other than Slater. Wilson plays a lot in the kicking game but I don't think he's really stood out there.

Add in Deering and it seems likely one of the special teams safeties is on their way out. Ebner at least gets into camera frame on plays and probably still has more learning potential.

Pats C+ great day 3  but missed a chance to be a huge AFC Fav next Year Best Case is Jimmy G will be ROMO 
JETS B-   nice haul but still very weak at QB

Pats didn't add top-end TE youngster, and he's going to see plenty of the field again in 2014... Even if they sign Keller.

* -- it's been months since I've had to spell Hoomanawanui. Best I could do.
