Some might take this as a purposeful slight against the Celtics (less likely here), but I find it hilariously how desperate the NBA is trying to make fans care about the in-season tournaments. Need to search up that Mean Girls meme.
I thought and most in the comments took as a moment to laugh at lakers and ESPN

It was a success, fans seemed to care quite a bit judging by the ratings bump. I love it and truly don’t understand those who don’t get it.

Winning the In-Sseason Tournament is like winning the Maui Invitational. Sure, they won a tournament and that's nice, but it isn't the league championship. I think it's lame to give the two winners equal billing.

I love, genuinely love, that Leon Powe has become the absolute cringiest Celtics superfan
It’s funny, I came here to post more or less the same thing, but it’s also worth mentioning how much of that ‘08 bench is active in Celtics World: Cassell on the bench, Scal and Eddie House in the booth, and Powe as some self-styled sheriff or whatever of Celtics Nation. Maybe James Posey wants to leave the Wiz and come take Charles Lee’s job?

You're mistaken. We were told by multiple posters on here how the in-season tournament is the greatest, most progressive thing ever, and we weren't true basketball fans if our arms weren't fully wrapped around it.

Because soccer does it, or something.

I thought it was really fun.

I'm looking forward to it again this year, and I'll try to go to Vegas if the Cs make the final four.

Fun is good and I like fun. Obviously, given the high-variance nature of basketball, single-elimination tournaments are a joke for establishing team quality (which is why I can't take the NCAA Tournament seriously at all).

the old “i was told that…” trope. it was more intense basketball than you’d normally get in november and december and that is undeniable. and i liked seeing extra competition.

Since the Celtics began in the fall of 1946, they are outpacing the other three Boston sports franchises combined in championships 18-13. Even post Russell, they have more titles than any single team, with 7, surpassing the 6 of the Patriots.

The Jays are well positioned for multiple titles.

Glen Davis and Tony Allen handle the team’s health benefits plan
