This poll need to be revised or saved and transmuted into another poll on NL opponents to reflect that the Astro’s are a done deal on the AL side.

Beating the Dodgers again would be amazing. Losing to them would drive me off a bridge. I feel like Atlanta or Milwaukee would be easier to beat but we still need to get past Houston and who knows with how October works.

Watching this really entertaining Braves-Brewers game reinforces how much I detest the Braves franchise and their fans. They still revel in the fuckin’ tomahawk chop and that chant from hell. No indication that they are adapting as humans.

I wanted White Sox, then Brewers. Now it's Astros since they won and I want the Braves since they would be the easiest. (Almost happened in 1948) I have nothing against the Giants but if they win, they tie the Red Sox for most WS Titles this century. Think of that fans!? So I will be rooting for the Dodgers Thursday night. Then Braves over the Dodgers.

Houston and the Giants.

To be the best you have to beat the best; taking down the Yankees, the 100 win Tampa Bay Devil Rays, the Astros and the Giants would be incredible.

Also, the Giants have always been my favorite NL team since I was a little kid, so it would not crush me to lose to them.

Losing to the Dodgers would not crush me, it would infuriate me.

Don't make it happen Theo.
No you don't want the Giants because if they win it all they will tie us for most WS Titles this century with four.

Most of us don't really care about who has the most titles in some arbitrary period of time.

Unless the comparison involves the Yankees.
Taking away the “this century” qualifier, a Giants WS win would also tie us (and the Athletics) with nine total championships.

One more gets us within one of the Cards for most all-time, non-Bronx division.

The Red Sox should actually have ten total. In 1904 John McGraw manager of the Giants refused to play the "inferior" American League Red Sox in the World Series. They did not award the Sox a forfeit because there was no commissioner at the time. McGraw and the Giants also showed the worst arrogance and nerve to present a New York Giants 1904 World Champion banner on opening day in 1905??? They were scared to play the Red Sox because they were the Defending WS Champs. The AL was newer so a lot of National league owners and staff considered the AL inferior. Still the Red Sox should have been awarded the title by default

I care. I like being the team with the most titles in the twenty-first century. It's a good thing to remind Yankee fans.

I voted the already guaranteed ALCS opponent Houston, then the Braves. In the unlikely event that the Red Sox AND the Braves are the last two teams standing, the Red Sox would have home field advantage in the WS by virtue of their better regular season record, 92 wins vs. 88 wins. I will take a home field advantage over the drama of another Dodgers series!

Exactly my point. Thank You. I'm a die hard Celtic fan it pisses me off and depresses me that the Stinking Lakers now have as many titles as our Celtics. 17. We never thought that would be catchable some years ago.

Try not to get caught up in stuff like that, just be grateful that Boston teams have collectively done so well.

Like Steeler fans who get annoyed that the Patriots have as many SB titles as they do; last time I checked, there is no prize for that.

It wouldn't be as bad if it wasn't the stinking Lakers. To me they are 1B on the hate list next to MFY 1A and the Habs 2.

How could anyone have hated those 80’s LA teams? Although because of geography I was a Celtic fan…. I just couldn’t hate the Lakers. Okay Kurt Rambis yeah. But the Celtics had Danny Ainge!!!

Can't argue with that list, that's pretty solid.

I'd add Miami Dolphins at #3, at least for me.

I hate that team, organization and fan base with the fire of 10,000 suns.

1972 was 49 years ago, so enough already.

And the 90s mfys had some admirable dirt dogs. So what, they chose to play for an archenemy, they got to live with the sports hatred.

Btw: spot on on the turkey butt Atlanta fans. Gonna suck having to root for them if it is lad.

Did not hate the players on the Lakers of the 80's, even Rambis. It was the uniform not the players. They were better that decade it pains me to admit, because they won 5 and our team won 3. I respect Michel Cooper so much now but boy I couldn't stand him when he guarded Bird. The Lakers of the Kobe era (RIP) I despised more because they were way more cocky then the Magic Lakers, and the Kings got ripped off by the refs in games 6 and 7 of 2002 WC.(wasn't one of those refs Doneghy) Semi Finals against Lakers. And the Trailblazers should have beaten the Lakers in Game 7, 2000 WCF. Had them beat by 16 or more in the 4th, but I guess that's nothing in the NBA. Oh well, shoulda, coulda, woulda. Just bitter also. And they beat us in 2010 when we played them practically even.

The 1980's Lakers I hated in the 80's, but did respect them and grew to admire them after their run was over. Part of it was they were built through some really smart drafting (Norm Nixon, Michael Cooper); yeah, they got lucky on some trades for future draft picks (Goodrich for Magic; Don Ford for Worthy), but so did the Celtics. Kareem sort of fell into their lap when he forced a trade from Milwaukee, but that was a few years before they began their run. Celtics had some talent fall into their laps as well (DJ for Rick Robey)

The only player I hated on those teams was Bob McAdoo, and that is because he was totally useless for the Celtics, and he never should have been on the Celtics in the first place.

I will never respect the Kobe Lakers or the fawning treatment they got from the sports media or the officials.

Yes for us Baby Boomers the Dolphins were a hated rival. Long before, Jets or Colts(Peyton era) or Ravens or Steelers. Just a horrible record in the Orange Bowl and Joe Robbie etc...Even Tom Brady had a losing record in Miami. And according to Shula and many players the 73, 12-2 Dolphins were better then the undefeated 72 team. The 72 team had so many close and lucky wins. The 73 team though they lost 2 whipped everybody's butt for the most part in their wins. Reg. season and playoffs.

Many Patriots fans in the early 1970's became Dolphins fans, they were sick of losing and jumped on the Miami band wagon as a result.

Based on how things have gone for Miami since the late 1970's/early 1980's to present day vs how things have gone for the Patriots, that was not a solid move.

I hope they are still Dolphin fans and didn't jump on our bandwagon. I wouldn't want them, LOL.
