Big mistake by Doc not starting the 4th with CP. This isn't a scheduled rest situation.

CP3 is so, so good. I kind of wish he had actually been able to play with that Laker squad just to see him in the finals.

He'll never get a title or a decent shot as his prime is ending but all the praise he gets is well deserved. when he's locked in like today, I love watching him play.

And he's part of the "old" guard now so he still gets to actually play defense (refs give him the old rope). I'm not a fan of the current NBA "defense" so watching him lock guys up today was fun stuff.

Blake still needs to stop playing hide and go seek in the second half.

Westbrook has 22 points, 10 assists, 8 rebounds, 2 steals and a block in the first half. OKC up 68-62.

Nice D by Russ to stand in the paint that entire possession and leave Beverley wide open in the corner

That was like a Hakeem game circa 1990 when he would try and beat teams in the playoffs entirely by himself. Those guys have a bad history of winning; partially because if a guy is dominating the ball THAT much his teammates are likely not very good and are not getting involved.

Raise your hand if you had JaVale McGee for 15 points on 7-7 shooting, 4 blocks and 5 boards tonight or at any time in the post season. He is going to get so paid this offseason.

Isn't that kind of the Javale McGee experience in a nutshell? Nobody ever doubted his athleticism or skill level, but his consistency and mentality. He is a perfect player for the Warriors because he plays a needed role but at the same time little is expected of him. If he gets a Mozgov-like contract unless he goes to a really good team that isn't counting on him for much (unlikely said team would pay him that contract to begin with) it is likely they are going to be disappointed; just like the folks in Washington and Denver found out.

The GS/POR series would be way more interesting if Nurkic was healthy. Way too much Meyers Leonard in those games.

Agreed about Nurkic. I am excited to see what the Blazers do with him for a full season next year. They are going to be much better.

And I actually think the Celtics should kick the tires on McGee. He has matured since his true Shaqtin' days, is beloved by his teammates and seems to like playing for an organization with a strong culture. The Cs can sure use his skill set.

Yeah, but isn't Kliq right in that he's perfect at GS, where what you get is gravy... but a big contract and relied upon day in day out...? I guess that's the risk/reward.

I actually think he would be fine with any club that has a strong head coach and team culture. He will never be a starter but can be an effective rotation guy who gives you good high energy minutes grabbing boards, protecting the rim and catching the occasional lob.

People who haven't followed the Ws that closely seem amazed, but JaVale was one of the best centers in the NBA this season on a per minute basis.

Per 36 minutes (in 739 total minutes):
23.0 pts on .642 true shooting, 11.9 rebounds, 3.3 blocks
+10.1 net points per 100 possessions on the best team in the NBA.

Emphasis on "per minute basis," of course: the Millsap Doctrine probably doesn't apply that well to him, since he has issues with asthma/conditioning and foul trouble, and his shock-and-awe style seems to work best in 6-7 minute bursts once or twice a game, as a change of pace. Early in the season he also had his longstanding issues with leaving his feet way too much on D, which is likely why throughout his career his poor-ish defensive plus-minus results have always belied his insane length and athleticism and high block totals. But working with the great Ron Adams and staff over the course of the season, he seems to have curtailed that significantly. In last night's game his mere presence around the paint deterred a few rim attempts, without him having to leave the ground.

Meanwhile, on the offensive end, Kerr, Adams and co. have basically cut out all the post touches and decision-making opportunities that used to get him into trouble (and on Shaqtin' a Fool) and turned him into a 24-7 dunker / rim attacker — basically a longer, more offensively gifted version of DeAndre Jordan (DJ does not have that smooth drop-step layup move he executed last night, for example).

Through his first two playoff games: 23 minutes, 21 points on 10-11 shooting, 10 rebounds, 6 blocks, 2 fouls.

As far as his free agent prospects: I suspect it's gonna be a tough decision for him, the Warriors, and other potential suitors. The Ws can only pay him the vet min (or part of the MLE, depending on what they do with Ian Clark and Zaza). Other teams will be able to offer more, but can he remain this productive outside of the warm, supportive embrace of Kerr and Adams, the laid-back Bay Area vibe, and hoops-savant teammates like his old friend Andre, Draymond, Steph and KD (who went above and beyond to attack Shaq after Shaq's latest stupid "JaVale / Dr. Strange" featurette) etc.? And after wandering the cruel, miserable NBA wilderness for the first 8-9 years of his career, how much will he want to leave the hoops nirvana he's found by the Bay? Stay tuned...

Bucks up 32-12 after the first. Middleton has 11 and Giannis has 10. Bucks are winning this series and will give the Cavs a run.

If Paul George got to play against LeBron every night he would be the best player in the NBA. Think about that!

Cavs aren't giving up to their credit. 15 point game now with over 7 minutes to play in the 3rd. A 25 point deficit is hard to overcome though.

Maker playing significant minutes for the Bucks and looking adept is just frightening. If he can progress at half of the level Giannis has progressed; if Jabari can stay healthy, good lord.

The boxscore to the game is a thing of beauty if you love oddities. How can one player have as many FG as an entire team for over 20 minutes? Toronto is 10/11 from the line too, in a game that is 52-23.

The ref calls in the Pacers/Cavs game are ridiculous. Pacers getting screwed by call after call (to my eyes) as Cleveland "storms back" to make it a game.

Pathetic.

They are significant, but he's played a total of 5. It's interesting how they use Thon as a 15 minute a game starter.

Referees don't blow a 25 point lead. Also Indiana has 25 FTA, Cleveland has 16. Indiana has 16 personal fouls. The Cavs have 21.

5 point game. 9:30 left to play.

Perhaps but Lance Stephenson chucking up shots the Cavs are flat out daring him to make is not a winning strategy for the Pacers.

Raptors went 7-30 in the first half with 13 rebounds, 4 assists and 8 turnovers. 14/15 from the line. They scored 16 points off FGs in 1 half.
Bucks were 23-41 with 23 rebounds, 16 assists, and 6 turnovers. 5/5 from the line.

57-30.

Cleveland took the lead after a 25 point comeback in Indiana. I haven't seen that in a playoff game in a long time.

Lebron has totally taken over. Amazing to watch. He's got a lot of douche in him, but it doesnt get much better than when he's rolling like this

I'll shout into the void until my death that NBA replay is a fucking travesty for this exact scenario.
