I think Norwich can score another goal; City is playing a very high line and their defense has been particularly erroneous today. Norwich has been great on the counter, and Pukki is basically Michael Owen at this point.

Everton host City next week. Should I be thrilled that they look wobbly, or terrified that they’re going to regroup and punish whoever they come across? Don’t answer, I already know.

Norwich up 2 with 10 minutes left now, if they can hang in there, they have a decent chance at coming out of this with a draw.

The Laporte injury is a killer for City. Otamendi is an Argentine David Luiz. There will always be opportunities and gaps against City with Stones and Otamendi as a pairing. Every City match will be like this. Not that that is too bad it’s unfortunate for my team but it’s been a blast to watch

Pep with the long embrace with Farke. Pep seems to sincerely appreciate opposing coaches who stymie his squad. Like he almost can’t wait to break down video for some new ideas.

Over in Spain, Real Sociedad really took it to Atletico today, winning pretty easily 2-0. Sociedad looks like a fun squad this year: Oyarbazal is a fantastic player and Odegaard, the Norwegian Real Madrid signed when he was 16, finally seems to be showing the promise.

Atletico cannot drop three points in these sorts of matches, but I like to see a competitive league rather than a three-team race.

Barcelona has a 16 year old winger who has a goal and an assist in the first six minutes of the game against Valencia.

I don't know whether to celebrate the fact that Barca is using a 16-year-old kid, or whether to wonder how a team with Barca's resources has had to rely on a 16-year-old kid to play key minutes early in the season?

This was funny.

But still, City had its chances including Aguero putting 2 headers over the crossbar from the 6, but Norwich picked Otamendi's pocket twice leading to 1 goal (could've been 2), played a 2-on-1 textbook perfect (and had to be, against that opponent), had some nice saves. They 100% deserved this outcome.

I said even last year, City could be gotten at. Their defense was good mostly because the attack kept the ball and kept opponents pinned back and City usually dominated the middle of the park. They were nothing special at the back. Kompany was cooked, Otamendi and Stones are not great, Mendy can’t stay healthy. Liverpool ‘s back four plus keeper walks into the City side and my fanboyism aside so does Everton’s sine last March.

Bournemouth-Everton so far - little bit sloppy, but pleasantly open.

And the equalizer just before the half. Both teams have squandered excellent chances, so 1-1 seems about fair. But for whatever reason, Fabian Delph seems intent on getting carded today.

Yeah, Ozil making the increasingly rare road-start (and first start of the season)! I did not expect to see a lot of Ceballos and Ozil on the field at the same time this year, so I am interested to see how this lineup looks.

Leno, Maitland-Niles, Sokratis, David Luiz, Kolasinac, Xhaka, Guendouzi, Ceballos, Ozil, Pepe, Aubameyang

Özil’s passing, to me, makes arsenal so much more dangerous. Great through ball on the second goal

Edit: and I’m getting an Aubemeyang jersey this year

Liverpool’s back 4 is certainly better. The keeper wouldn’t displace Ederson he’s just not as good with his feet. He’s good just a horses for courses thing.

The Everton part is a pipe dream. City play with advanced full backs and two 8s who basically play in the hole behind the strikers. Defenders are asked to deal with some relatively difficult situations numbers wise and thus there is always a feeling if there being a possibility. The team has gotten really small as well so set pieces and corners are a bit of an adventure. But Evertons defenders in City’s system would be a calamity.

David Luiz with yet another foul in the box... is he still playing for Chelsea?

Arsenal are objectively bad.
They have all of the pieces.. and will/should be better on defense when they get their other three players back.. Bellerin alone will be an improvement running up the right. BUT.. they're a disorganized mess and I'm not exactly sure what their coach is doing. They've been off since the end of last season. The first thing that needs to happen.. David Luiz needs to sit. Also not sure about Pepe so far.

I mean Everton wanted Rojo so....
They wanted Rojo as a backup after they failed to get anyone else to spell Mina or Keane- after playing footsie withCjelsea forthe whole window.

And yes they were better than City down the stretch last year.

I have nothing good to say about the defense or anyone else associated with Everton today do have at it.

They weren’t though. From March to May Everton let in 7 goals. City let in 3. Last year down the stretch Kompany was pretty nails and Laporte was the leagues second best center back.

How wild has the early season been?

West Ham got thoroughly destroyed week 1 by City, but with a win over Villa tomorrow they would be even with City for points, slotting into 3rd on the GD, 2 full points above the rest of the top 6 (and Leicester).

West Ham play like crap have a man sent off and just draw.
Move into the 6 way tie for 3rd on points, but 8th factoring GD
