Zlatan is going to score many many goals this year.
Pogba looks pretty bad, but it's early.

Zlatan is ridiculously good when surrounded by other good players. Shame he never had that on Sweden. But man knows how to play striker.

It is early for Pogba and with a weird summer with the long Euro run and the crazy transfer I'll guess he'll settle in soon enough. Fellani doesn't look useless this year and Bailly looks good enough. United could be scary all season.

Aside from literally the first minute of the game you guys didn't think Pogba looked good?
When I wrote it they were about 25-30 minutes in, right before he had that one really good run up the middle, before that he looked straight garbage in possesion and defense. He was better at the end of the first and into the second half, but he was still not one of the 8-10 best players on the pitch. He got lost in defense often and when he went to the wing he sagged off way too much and gave up easy balls into the box. On offense he had some really nice moves, and some bad giveaways, his shot was... as always... not very good.

He was acceptable, but certainly not elite. It's early though, he'll probably improve his defending as he gets more comfortable with teammates, and less sloppy in possession. His shooting will still suck though, because it always has, but at his best he can get away with not being a scorer.

Thank god. Milner in for Moreno

Mignolet, Clyne, Lovren, Klavan, Milner, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Lallana, Firmino, Coutinho, Sturridge

Gray is really good. So quick, and seems to be ok with either foot. Has trouble staying onside but that's partly because of his pace.

The only saving grace for this game is the "Mr. F Tyres" ad

That, and Moreno making a meal of his first touch after a short corner

Tactics today reminiscent of late-stage Brendan Rodgers... extremely discouraging

Yuck! He's actually worse than Vardy. Hopefully he has evolved in the last four years.

Meanwhile, too much deference by the announcing crew for Clattenberg. I thought that was a clear foul in the box.

I didn't think that one was a penalty, looked like he touched the ball first.
Second one should have been a penalty. I hate the "player sticks out arm, steps in front, slows down to be run over" call, but it's clear that the refs have been told to call it, and do consistently, so it should be called there even if it is in the box.

He was signed as a backup to Valdez. He's lucky to have a seat in the league let alone a place on the grass.

Gotta be rough being a Sunderland fan. It's bad enough that Sam Allardyce is the best thing to have happened to your club in seasons and then the FA drops a flaming turd on your doorstep at the precise time to maximally undo most of what he did while not letting them get new players in time.

Go up a man and finally break through after dominating the first half and a ton of wasted opportunities

California. Duh.
2 games into the season, and Costa has scored 2 late winners, both times after he probably should have been sent off.
