This game was really good I may actually want a game 7

But Valdez has baby rocker backing him up so Wheeler will need to come up big

Wheeler in Game 6. Valdez is tough but Phillies have a shot.
Framber is a boss, but he has thrown a metric ton of innings this year (like 70 more than any other year in his pro career) and seemed to wear down a bit late in the season. I think he can be had. Wheeler will have to be on it, though.

Houston's margins of victory in postseason:

+1, +2, +1, +2, +1, +5, +1, -1, +3, -7, +5, +1

So many squeakers--some of them low-scoring--to start the postseason, only one game before World Series had margin greater than 2. They've scored more than 6 one time (it was 8 on the ALDS1 Alvarez walkoff when SEA scored 7). No complete blowouts except maybe their -7 loss. In the WS, they have scored one more run than the Phillies through 5 games. Whole postseason averages out to winning by about 1 run (and change). Not typically bludgeoning with offense but the pitching is SO good.

Maybe this just speaks to the other teams' quality of pitching and maybe it's a relatively average postseason? But it seems like a relatively fraught set of wins and (one of their two) losses.

They haven't hit as much as they should for much of the postseason, they miss Brantley who would cover LF/DH with Alvarez and they could stop with the rotating automatic outs in that spot.

Chas is a stupid name. I really hate that team. Baseball gods need to look up karma in the dictionary are start adhering to its edicts. I know I should be happy for Vásquez and Mancini, but I just can't be yet. Hopefully I won't have to be.

The Phillies would have Suarez for Game 7 and Houston would have McCullers? Javier on short rest?
McCullers for a few innings at least to start, my HOU buddy says they like him at home.
Reminds me of 2013 Red Sox situation in WS Game 6, hoping Lackey could close the deal because the idea of the season coming down to Peavy in G7 would have been Youk levels of sweat-inducing.

Vasquez at DH? Did Astros fire Dusty and rehire Cora?
Edit: Korey Lee is a catcher so I guess not that crazy

Their bench is not deep, which makes the Gurriel injury a big deal. I imagine Hensley will be ready to come off the bench at some point in this one, and frankly I am a little surprised that he isn't taking over at DH.

I've actually been surprised they haven't used Vaz as DH before this, given the guys they've stuck there. I mean, I knew why, in case of injury to Maldonado, but still thought it made sense.
