Same here. I'm actually rooting for the Astros, but I want their arms so worn out that they can't compete in 2023. Gimme a seventh game.Man, I really, really want Philly to win on Saturday. It's going to be a long winter.
Framber is a boss, but he has thrown a metric ton of innings this year (like 70 more than any other year in his pro career) and seemed to wear down a bit late in the season. I think he can be had. Wheeler will have to be on it, though.Wheeler in Game 6. Valdez is tough but Phillies have a shot.
Von Hayes, Old “Five for One”. Good catch. This is how I remember them (80s but still)

McCullers for a few innings at least to start, my HOU buddy says they like him at home. The Phillies would have Suarez for Game 7 and Houston would have McCullers? Javier on short rest?
First base defense decided this one, weirdly. Hoskins botches a play that allows the decisive run to score; Mancini robbed Schwarber on what might have been a game winner.Astros really tried to lose this game, but BABIP just wouldn't let them.
Yeah you’re clearly right. I forgot they shifted in the 80s to a more faded blue.
Spikes as God intended...whole team wears the same color and polished to perfection. When men were men.
They haven't hit as much as they should for much of the postseason, they miss Brantley who would cover LF/DH with Alvarez and they could stop with the rotating automatic outs in that spot.Houston's margins of victory in postseason:
+1, +2, +1, +2, +1, +5, +1, -1, +3, -7, +5, +1
So many squeakers--some of them low-scoring--to start the postseason, only one game before World Series had margin greater than 2. They've scored more than 6 one time (it was 8 on the ALDS1 Alvarez walkoff when SEA scored 7). No complete blowouts except maybe their -7 loss. In the WS, they have scored one more run than the Phillies through 5 games. Whole postseason averages out to winning by about 1 run (and change). Not typically bludgeoning with offense but the pitching is SO good.
Maybe this just speaks to the other teams' quality of pitching and maybe it's a relatively average postseason? But it seems like a relatively fraught set of wins and (one of their two) losses.
Good winner comment for sure! Some guy on Reddit said he would be in the box next to Rob Manfred at the game and would yell out the top comment to Manfred… so here’s a video of a random guy yelling “Hey Rob, you want the youth, end the blackouts, dumbass”.

I'm really glad someone said it to him, seriously. Thanks for this. Some guy on Reddit said he would be in the box next to Rob Manfred at the game and would yell out the top comment to Manfred… so here’s a video of a random guy yelling “Hey Rob, you want the youth, end the blackouts, dumbass”.

If I recall correctly, he was pretty damned good against the Braves and Padres. Hit more than one home run in more than one game. But like many home-run oriented players, he strikes out a LOT.Hoskins is useless with the bat. Has anyone wondered why he is battling second?
They have made six straight ALCSs, it's a dynasty whether they win this WS (they will) or not.Astros on the Verge of a Dynasty After Game 5 Win Over Phillies

Stupid NY times headline. The only one they won was when they were cheating. What kind of dynasty is that?

Reminds me of 2013 Red Sox situation in WS Game 6, hoping Lackey could close the deal because the idea of the season coming down to Peavy in G7 would have been Youk levels of sweat-inducing.McCullers for a few innings at least to start, my HOU buddy says they like him at home.
Never change, Philly fans. Never change.
Their bench is not deep, which makes the Gurriel injury a big deal. I imagine Hensley will be ready to come off the bench at some point in this one, and frankly I am a little surprised that he isn't taking over at DH.Vasquez at DH? Did Astros fire Dusty and rehire Cora?
Edit: Korey Lee is a catcher so I guess not that crazy
It disgusts me that anyone want the Phillies to win. The people in Philly suck something fierce. Fuck them all. My toilet empties there. Far from a Houston fan, but I hope they crush them tonight.Never change, Philly fans. Never change.
No one really cares about that. Just like PEDs. If the Astros win they'll have won 2 and gone to 4 over a 6 year period. It's impressive. Unless you're whining about the trash can thing.Astros on the Verge of a Dynasty After Game 5 Win Over Phillies

Once upon a time, Tito continued to bat Damon leadoff despite his struggling. That worked out pretty well in the end.Seems the Phillies are going to continue batting Rhys second and Harper fourth.
They deserve to lose.
