Considering that the only movies Hollywood makes nowadays are super hero movies or remakes or biopic Oscar bait, I'm glad that the Rewatchables has found a niche of looking at mostly original content made for the big screen at a time when that kind of entertainment was valued. I can go anywhere for discussions of the Marvel series or Star Wars or whatever tentpole Sci-Fi series and frankly I personally don't find most of those films to be original, exciting, entertaining, or even Rewatchable (the third new Star Wars movie wasn't even a Watchable for me). Like I wouldn't say The Rock is good, but it's definitely entertaining, it definitely has a style to it, and I know it's annoying to say "They don't make them like they used to" but... they don't make movies like the Rock anymore. Leave the discussion of the big tentpole superhero and sci-fi stuff to the other podcast channels and let the Rewatchables focus on the kind of hits that have disappeared from the big screen in recent years.
Regarding classics like Casablanca - is that really a Rewatchable? It's a great movie, but if it's on a channel, I'm not immediately sucked in the way I am with Dumb and Dumber or Bad Boys. The entertainment value isn't quite there, there aren't as many funny moments, and I wouldn't really want to hear Simmons talk about a movie like that anyway.
