Problem with a “throwback” red uniform is that it was the uniform of the Royal Army. You know, the other side.

Maybe they can go grey on grey and look like the Sox on the road in the 80s

So this is probably meaningless, but the Pro Shop now has some new gray jerseys for sale

That looks hideous, although I am sure there will be plenty of people who like it. Keep the dark blue jersey, bring back the silver pants, then go with the road uniform, white on dark blue, I actually like that one.

I can totally picture them rolling out gray pants next year… and a gray on gray combo, unfortunately. Like the Seahawks.

I remember when Nike didn’t consistently pump out trash. Those were good times.

Bring back the pre-1993 Pat Patriot uniforms (red home/ white road) full time. I don’t want some updated 21st century version of them like the Chargers & Rams did. Just bring back the authentics.

Eh, the tops are essentially modernized throwbacks with different colors. The striping is nearly identical (middle stripe is wider). The biggest difference, really, is the lack of TV numbers on the sleeves. In their place is the flying Elvis, which is redundant. They also have the Patriots word mark below the collar.

The main problem with the blue/home jerseys is the lack of white pants, IMO. Mono blue is atrocious to look at.

Examples:

Wes Welker wearing the throwback red top:

Current blue top:

I'd rather stay with blue tops given that the most successful years with the team were with the previous blue mains, and that, well, red is the color of the British army.

The Blueberry top with white or gray bottoms would be ok, but the all blue, blueberries, blows.

Pat Patriot helmets needs to return!
I'd like to see the old, white Pat the Patriot helmet with the current blue jersey and some contrasting white pants. That looks great in my imagination.

Yes a seem to recall seeing that concept on here a few years ago. Very dapper look.

We've had this discussion before here and I am obviously in the minority, but Pat Patriot to me brings back nothing but memories of bad teams, the worst stadium in pro sports, and ugly football.

My favorites are the ones they wore in the mid-2010s.

Not sure any current or past Patriot has that figure. It's the Barbie-ization of football players and it ought to stop.

I like the idea of a white helmet because they could also use it effectively with the red jerseys

It would also go nicely with white pants

Finally, I like the shoulder striping on this better than the current jerseys

I have said this before in this thread, but get rid of the silver helmet. I have an affinity for the Pat Patriot helmets, but that is because I fell in love with football in the first Doug Flutie era, but I don't hate the Flying Elvis nearly as much on the white helmet. I am partial to white helmet/grey facemask combo (like the 2009 throwback destruction of the Titans), but I could be convinced of the white facemask. The silver, unless it is a nod to Sam Adams (and I don't think early 90s NEP marketing team was smart enough to make that connection), has no role in the Minute Men and the Revolutionary War.

I’ve seen this before and I love it. Plus you can swap in the pay helmets without necessarily going red for a 3rd look

And we will all wear them while not on your lawn. :)

Paul Revere, a member of Adams’ Sons of Liberty, was a silversmith.

That’s all I got.

You're right, it was Revere. I have failed the dozen or so Massachusetts public school teachers in my family. And Johnny Termain. The logic is still there though, the silver is stupid and doesn't belong on the New England Patriots uniforms.

The above template would be fine if Pat returned to the helmet instead of Elvis. Just give him a navy jacket instead of royal blue.

If they wanted to go deeper into the symbolism from the era, the pant stripes could match the shoulder stripes and just be red and white as a shout out to the flag adopted by the Sons of Liberty. They could do the grey face mask as a shoutout to Revere.

This is why US History teachers shouldn’t be in charge of uniform design.

Bump, as they are now available in #10 Jones. Unsure if it means anything. As we've discussed multiple times, they really need to address the pants issue first.

That is a seriously ugly jersey and I hope they never make it onto the field. Worst in the nfl? Worst in all of sports?
