The #Patriots have terminated the contract of WR Julian Edelman, per the wire. He’s listed as a failed physical.

Tough (seeming) end to his Patriots career.

Thanks for everything Julian!

Look at this playoff run starting in the 2013-2014 season:
6 for 84
10 for 89, 1td
8 for 74 and 1 for 51 passing, 1td
9 for 98
9 for 109, 1td (game-winner)
10 for 100
7 for 53
8 for 137
8 for 118, 1td
5 for 87 (no TD but had The Catch in SB win)
9 for 151
7 for 96
10 for 141 (SB win)
3 for 30 (a dud for everyone of course)

What a beast. Wes Welker had an amazing career here—certainly more prolific, healthier, and statistically impressive—but circumstances have conspired to place all of the fond memories on his successor.

Welker and Edelman had almost identical numbers. Throw in rushing, passing, and playoffs and Edelman stands above Welker.

Granted Welker did it in less years, but he came with experience, Edelman needed to change positions and get some seasoning.

I'd take Edelman over Welker ever day of the week and twice on Sunday.
