Exactly, it looks like both teams win in some fashion. Pats upgraded Richards to Bethel, and the Ravens traded Bethel for Richards and a 4th. Everyone seems content with what they ended with.

Looks like Bethel's deal is two years -- minimum this year (so, like $930,000 pro rated) and $1.5m with $500k in roster incentives next year.

As we know from Miguel, at the time they signed him, they only had $10k to work with so maybe the second year was necessary to get him to take league vet minimum for the rest of 2019. $2 million seems a bit high for a special teamer and with Slater's 2020 deal that's $4.5 million for two special teams players (assume they play 16 games each). It's a $500k raise over what he was due to make for the Ravens, but you almost sort of have to just treat it as deferred non-guaranteed cap spending. They gave him a little bump next year for going a bit lower this year.

Last time I checked the top-of-the-market non-specialist ST-only guys were making $2.5-$3 MM, so $2 MM is a pretty nice deal. Slater is at $2.9 MM (OTC has him a FA after this year, so not sure where you are getting your 2020 number), Ebner $2.8, King $1.6 / $1.7. The highest-paid non-specialist ST-only player appears to be old friend Barkevious Mingo, making $3.4 MM this year to play one snap on D and a bunch of STs.
