Does that mean that the official Patriots are reporting that someone is reporting that the Patriots reportedly signed him?

With a deal like that, I assumed he would run to free agency. The fact that he signed this so quickly means either we overvalue his skill, or the market for CBs isn't great.

I mean, the dude plays a premium position very well - not elite, but well - and got slot corner salary while playing the majority of his snaps on the outside.

I love it, but this is weird.

A number of people have said he took a significant discount because he wasn't interested in leaving New England.

I dunno. Seems like a lot of variance on his value.

Sportrac had him at 2 years for $12.4M per year. PFF had him at 2 years for $6.5M per year.

Maybe we just split the difference going forward to find the consensus...

Maybe Jones is the free Safety and we still draft a cornerback. Seem like some real talent there in the draft.
There is absolutely space in the DB room for 1 or 2 high level assets (whether it’s draft capital or FA money) devoted to the group especially if you are like me and want Marcus getting more snaps on offense.

By snap count the #2 CB on the roster was Myles Bryant (60%) and his 70% completion rate against over the last two years. Would kind of be malpractice if they don’t have a plan in place to at minimum push him down the depth chart. Maybe it is just growth from the younger guys but it gets hairy if they stagnate/Jack doesn’t get his stuff figured out/there are injuries. Really I just don’t want Myles Bryant, please non-tender Myles Bryant.
