I’m skiing today. I except another signing when I check in after a few runs.

You can see flashes with Harry, and Kyed has shown that he got open quite a bit. Just doesn’t seem like it’s going to work out here, I think they could get a 4th.

I bet the Giants are one of the teams interested.

I think he’s been so bad that the notion he will become a contributor in a good receiver room is really optimistic. I’m good with moving on.
I think there's enough potential to hold on if they don't get the appropriate trade compensation. Harry hasn't really had a real off season yet in his career.

People are giving up on Harry too quick. He was injured part of his 1st year and had a QB notrious for not giving rookies much of a chance, and had Newton's noodle arm last year. Give him a chance with a full training camp and a competent QB willing to incorporate him in the offense.

Shock and awe indeed. I mean...wow. This has been an incredible 24 hours. I'll be calling my doctor shortly.

Those RBs seem weird. Less Carson who is good, but Fournette? He wasn't great last year and he can't catch even a little bit.

Yet an undrafted FA at the same position, from the same draft class, with the same QBs, was able to put up over 700 yards last year. I'm not buying the excuses for Harry. He's a bust.

Mixed feelings on Fournette. No denying he looks like a no-vision plodder at times, and I don't see why he'd leave TB if he's not blown away by the $$ or playing time opportunity elsewhere (which I think we'd all agree we don't want to see dished out for him here). Combined with my optimism on DH and to a slightly lesser extent Sony, I'm skeptical that he makes sense for those reasons. On the flipside, he's strong as hell and is underrated as a pass catcher out of the backfield. Between 2019 for the Jags and the Bucs playoff run I'd really question the Fournette can't catch narrative. Overall I'm more of a fan than not, but I'm still really skeptical that the money or role will be enough.

Unless White has said behind the scenes he's definitively ready to move on, I don't see why he wouldn't be plan A at RB given how complementary his skill set is to Harris and Michel.

It’s going to be really funny here when after all this BB turns around and drafts a running back at #15 overall.

Dude had 76 receptions in a SEASON not two years ago.

You sure about that?
It was a very weird outlier season (also he didn't have a good catch rate for a RB).
Very bad take in bold there. Very bad.
Fournette had a 15% drop rate last year and the routinely benched him for drops. He had high drop rates every year we have data for, and he isn't a real receiving back as shown by his negative ADOT. He'd be the same type of passcatcher as Sony. He's not a weapon in the passing game at all.

I mean, one only needs to look at last year when TB was trying to get something out of McCoy's corpse because their backs couldn't be trusted to catch the ball.

Edit- FOurnette is a Sony/Harris replacement not a Burkhead/White replacement. Now maybe we intend to not throw to our RBs, or Bill doesn't like/trust one of Sony/Harris, but nobody trusts Fournette as a passcatcher, it isn't his game even a little bit.

Fournette has always been a good receiving back. And in the playoffs, he was targeted 21 times and had 18 receptions for a 7.0 average. You can't be a guy who "can't catch even a little bit" and have 76 receptions in a season.

Does he drop balls occasionally? Yep. Your hyperbole was way over the top though.

With a good line and two strong TE plus a running QB it makes sense to add to RB. They aren't splashing with KG here. They are built for ball control it seems.

I want to agree with you, but man the guy cannot run routes still and was also committing penalties every other play (which is ridiculous for a WR to do)

Learning routes is something that could come in time, not sure about those penalties

Carson went 7/72/0 rushing and 3/36/1 receiving against us in Week 2. Love that guy.

I think both can be true...

Fournette is physically capable of catching a football...

...& he doesn't add surplus value in that role. He averaged 5 yards per target the last 2 seasons.

I don't disagree. He's not someone I'd be super interested in signing, especially if it's for anything other than minimal dollars. But it's just not true that he can't catch. The guy has caught a LOT of passes as a RB and was a key guy for Brady during their playoff run.

Fine, it was hyperbole. I should have said... Fournette is not a threat in the passing game, and it seems a weird fit to bring in a guy who isn't that good or reliable as a passcatcher to a backfield that already has 2 guys in it who are arguably better runners than him.

Edit- Carson makes far more sense, he's a clear upgrade, and he's been more of a threat as a passcatcher in terms of consistency and ability to run downfield routes.

Yeah, I don't really think they should spend a bunch of $ on any RB, but if the $ is comparable I'd much rather have Carson.
