Dig this. When Phillips(? Duggar?) went down last year, he stepped in and played really well after an initial adjustment.

Can't say I watch much NFL these days, but the guy was an ELITE athlete in college and pre-ACL injury. If he's still got that combo of speed, quickness, strength, and physicality, then I'm sure BB can find good ways to use him.

I really like this re-signing.

The team has bigger holes than another safety, but losing McCourty means we have to fill those snaps. He's a competent, hard hitter that knows the system.

He also blew out his ACL at the end of October '21 and was on the field for the first Pats preseason game in August, ten months later. He was a very good safety for the Giants prior to his injury - also played pretty well last season, too - and if we get THAT player back at $5.5m a season? It's an absolute bargain since pre-injury Peppers probably gets $10M+ in this market.

Geez, that's a steal. I'm surprised nobody else would take a flyer on him, he was a good player when on the field.
