PFF hates Joseph, grading him out as the 2nd-worst overall guard in football this year and the worst run-blocking G. He's never graded positively with PFF.

Yup -- Joseph was indeed one of the top interior linemen but he tore his patellar tendon and missed all of 2012. I think last year was him still recovering from that.

If he is healthy then he'd be great, although Dallas just passed on him after a FA visit. Then again, it's the Cowboys.

PFF has never had him as a top interior OL - they had him at a nearly-as-bad -25 in 2010, and a better-but-still-poor -2.2 in 2012, -7.5 in 2009, -4.6 in 2008, and -5.4 in 2007.

That's correct SN. I meant more as a non-PFF consensus -- evidenced by him going to the Pro Bowl in 2008 (3rd year in the league) and 2011. I may be biased on him though -- he was one of my picks from the original RFD all the way back in 2009: http://sonsofsamhorn.net/topic/46010-realfantasy-pigskin-draft-discussion-thread/?p=2371462

Davin Joseph is not only one of the best guards left in the draft, but also one of the youngest at age 25. He is big and athletic at 6'3", 313 lbs. He's versatile enough to be an above-average pass blocker (former LT in college) to keep Big Ben from another concussion, but is an absolute monster at clearing paths as a run blocker. He helped Bucs set a new team record with 5,456 total yards in 2008.

A Florida native and a Sooner who was also a two-time 2A state and national wrestling champion at Florida, Joseph was a Pro-Bowl selection last year and there's no doubt he'll be one of top 5 guards in the game for a long time to come.

Here
This is all part of the plan to sign someone from every position right before the draft in order to make every other team think they are drafting nobody, and instead will just let their clock run out every pick.

I was pretty excited about this, and then I checked FO and PFF and neither really seemed to like him all that much. The mid 2000's was really the last wave of players who got by on primitive stats and reputation alone.

While advanced stats have a long way to go in the NFL, they do a fairly decent job of snuffing out the has been's and never was. The line (especially the interior line) is still very hard to track efficiently, but I'm more than willing to accept that this guy was never more then 1-2 glorified solid seasons.

Holding the NFL hostage by ending up with the last picks in the draft and thereby refusing to close out the draft.

The NFL after 3 weeks worth of a showdown the NFL finally blinks and gives Belichick back the first round pick taken  from him during Spygate for the 2015 draft and an additional 3rd round pick in that same year. He closes by publicly declaring Ryan a fat foot rubbing bitch and announcing that  the Mannings are nothing but a couple of redneck hicks.
