I'd probably go with something like this:

QB: Tom Brady
OT: Nate Solder
OT: Marcus Cannon (maybe Sebastian Vollmer? I took longevity/durability over peak)
OG: Shaq Mason
OG: Logan Mankins
C: David Andrews
TE: Rob Gronkowski
WR: Julian Edelman
WR: Wes Welker
RB: James White
FLEX: Danny Amendola
FB: James Develin

DE: Chandler Jones
DE: Trey Flowers
DT: Vince Wilfork
DT: Lawrence Guy
OLB: Rob Ninkovich
OLB: Kyle Van Noy
ILB: Jerod Mayo
ILB: Dont'a Hightower
CB: Stephon Gilmore
CB: Malcolm Butler
S: Devin McCourty
S: Patrick Chung

The no-brainers to me are:

QB Brady
FB Develin
WR Edelman
TE Gronkowski
OT Solder
OG Mankins
OG Mason
LB Ninkovich
LB Hightower
CB Gilmore
S McCourty
S Chung

That still leaves me with:
RB
WR
C
OT
DE
DE
DT
DT
LB
CB

It's a problem because not many guys played for a long time during this decade. Welker just through 2012, for example. Wilfork through 2014. Amendola from 2013-2017. Mayo through 2015. Butler from 2014-2017. Revis just one year. Chandler Jones from 2012-2015. Trey Flowers from 2015-2018. It's just not easy.

So here's what I'll go with...

QB Brady
RB White
FB Develin
WR Edelman

WR Amendola
TE Gronkowski
OT Solder

OT Vollmer
OG Mankins
OG Mason

C Andrews
DE Jones
DE Flowers
DT Wilfork
LB Ninkovich
LB Hightower

LB Mayo
LB Van Noy
CB Gilmore
CB Butler
S McCourty
S Chung

Picking a second DT was rough. Duron Harmon probably deserves to be on the team more than Lawrence Guy, but there's really nowhere to put him.

It’s a major faux paus that they omitted a ST spot.

Is this list determined by the Patriots? If so, how the hell did nobody ask Bill what he thought? There’s no way they omit ST if he had a say.

Honestly I think Logan Ryan should be the 2nd CB over Butler. He played 4 years out of the 10, was really good. Butler was great for 2 years, and good for a 3rd.

There is a separate ST. K, P, returner, and special teamer aka Slater

I looked at him, but Butler actually started more games for the Patriots than Ryan did. That's because Butler was a full-season starter for 3 seasons, while Ryan only was for his last two. Butler wasn't that great his last season, but he still played a bunch of snaps, until.....well, you know.

Combine that with the Super Bowl pick, arguably the greatest play in NFL history, and I have a hard time putting Ryan on the team over Butler.

Define starter though, the Pats play with extra DBs so often.

Ryan played 64 games, 40 starts, 2982 snaps
Butler played 59 games, 48 starts, 3309 snaps

I am actually surprised that Butler played more snaps than Ryan to be honest. So I guess the Butler selection is justified. He was awesome in 2015 and 2016.

It's mainly because Ryan regressed badly in his second season, and was in and out of the lineup throughout the year. I remember him being so frustrating to watch, because he had shown a lot of promise as a rookie. Finally found his sea legs in his third season.

Butler barely played as a rookie, but almost immediately went from Super Bowl hero to mainstay at CB, and then stayed there. Until he didn't.

Yeah you are right - Arrington played a lot in that 2014 season.

Butler was at 98, 99, 97% snaps in 2015-2017.

Thuney over Mason is interesting. I gave it to Mason, mainly because he's been here for one more season, but I can see the argument for Thuney. He's just been such a horse. Thuney's never missed a game in his career, and this past season was the first time he had ever missed so much as an offensive snap. Thuney has been a steadier player too, while Mason has been a bit up and down. One of the tougher spots to pick.

Maybe Belichick really will end up paying two guards.

Not enough love is being given towards Blount. He led all Patriots RB's in rushing attempts, rushing yards, and blew away the field with 42 rushing TDs. James White is a true flex player because of his pass catching abilities. Combined rushing and receiving, White does have over 1,000 more yards from scrimmage but in 33 more games and still has less TDs than LG. Both players deserve to be on the All-Decade Team. I love Amendola too.

Blount: 788 att, 3387 yds, 42 TDs/20 rec, 145 yds, 1 TD(57 games)
White: 310 att, 1265 yds, 13 TDs/379 rec, 3315 yds, 27 TDs(90 games)

How many of those Blount touchdowns were from the 1 yard line?

Seems as though it would have made more sense to have WR/WR/WR/RB/RB or WR/WR/RB/RB/Flex. Single back systems are no more. That way you could have both Blount and White honored for their 2 completely different roles and still have 3 WR. It’s definitely telling that all 3 WR who made the team are very similar in role, with no true deep threat.
