woke up to a nice little note on my car this morning that a sweet elderly woman left after scraping the shit out of the side of my car. to say this news is welcome is an understatement. LFG.

The Garden's gonna be a rockin' tonight! Coming off a kick ass 4 game, 8 point roadtrip, Pasta extension, introductions to Orlov (who had two goals and a helper in Calgary) and Hathaway, and Bertuzzi(?)

Here
That's a steal, I really think he could have gotten up around 14-15 on the open market for the same number of years.

They’ve now got a pretty good young core signed long term.

As much as they are pushing for a cup this year, they are not completely stripping the future.

Welcome to Boston, Tyler Bertuzzi. Enjoy your 15 minutes because we're about to bury your acquisition with the news of a Pasta extension.

I think that this is the most guaranteed money that the Bruins have ever given to one player. He’s worth every nickel of it.

Pastrnak is 26 years old, just entering his prime. The contract will run him through his age 34 season (when he should still be a good goal scorer). He's a monster offensive player.

Love it.

Pasta, Charlie, Lindholm, Zacha, Swaymark.
The team is going to compete for years to come. They’ll also add some key pieces when they free up money. Was worried about a rebuild but with that core you’re really looking at a retool. If Lysell can reach his potential they’re going to be sitting pretty (all things considered) for the near future.

Donnie is taking no prisoners.
How long can Sweeney convince Bergeron and Krecji to take undermarket deals? Because there is a chance for the Bruins to enter that Brady/Pats zone for a few years where the top player(s) lower salary allows for building better teams around them. And that is some magic sauce when it happens.

What a change a year makes- I was convinced there was an ugly rebuild on the horizon but they are in such a better situation than I could have wished for.

Added to that, for the next two seasons after this, they also have Carlo, and Marchand, who aren’t nothing.

Next year, you start with a team that’s a lot in place, even without depending on Bergeron/Krejci.

Pastarnak/Marchand/Zacha/Coyle/Hall
Debrusk/Greer/Frederic (rfa)

McAvoy/Lindholm/Carlo/Grzelcyk/Forbort/Zboril

Forgot about DeBrusk. He’s been one of my favorite bruins to watch since he joined the team. Love how he goes into the corners. Really happy they didn’t get rid of him.

To me it’s not even about the money. Can’t imagine they’ll play elsewhere for more. If they want to play hockey I think they’d return. They both seem like mature family men though, so I’d guess their desires to be with their families would have more of an impact than what the Bruins could pay them.

whoa great news.

...that the Bruins think they can afford this under the cap.

Becomes the #5 NHL player by AAV, after McDavid, Panarin, Auston Matthews and Karlsson.

I wonder if Bergeron and Krejci might see this and think "maybe one more year wouldn't be so bad". I figured they were both gone after this year, certainly Bergeron had the air of a Last Dance in his return.
