Interesting to make a change with a 1-0 count.
Managers make a lot of decisions that can be judged in retrospect but in real time are so tough.

But making a pitching move 1-0 shows a real lack of foresight and planning. How was Vesia not up and ready to go??

I like him, but this very likely is going to be DR's last game as manager.

I think it was a combination of trying to get the best frame for the pitch, and avoiding the double steal, more than simple indifference, but it looks real bad right now.
I think everyone thought it was strike three. It was a ball, but in same place as strike one.

I’m old school but I don’t pull pitchers with a shut out unless something is wrong

No team with 110 plus wins ever failed to make the LCS or, before the LCS, the World Series. The ‘01 Mariners lost in the ALCS, and all the other teams made the World Series.

The 2019 Dodgers and the 2021 Giants are the only other teams with 105 plus wins to lose in the LDS.

And it's kind of pouring now, I thought that never happened here?

"They've waited 24 years to go to a league championship series again."

God fucking damn, we Sox fans have been so gloriously fortunate. (As I'm sure you all know: eight trips to the LCS since then, with four pennants leading to four titles. What a time to be alive.)

If the score holds and the Yankees can't win two straight against Cleveland, then the biggest media market left in the playoffs will be Houston, home to the team most fans don't want to win. MLB must not be overly thrilled at the prospect.

They asked for chaos when they expanded the playoffs to overfill their pockets, and chaos they shall have.

Only 2 other teams who won 110+ didn't automatically make the WS, the 02 Ms and the 98 Yankees

Bellinger was like an 8 WAR player just a few years ago.
He always had a crazy swing though, I never understood how guys didn't exploit it constantly even when he was MVP. He is a great defender though, at CF and 1B both.
