Both teams are behaving in annoying ways: Padres stepping out relentlessly and Bassitt shaking off every pitch suggestion from his catcher. Maybe the rule changes will help next year but a big game like this underscores why something different is worth trying. There’s no flow to the sport.

Bassitt is having trouble with the pitch comm. The crowd noises are making it worse.

Showalter should have pulled Bassitt after that ugly 3rd, but it also may not matter at all by the end.

For no good reason, I think the Mets are going to make a game of this and then lose.

Was that someone in the booth yelling "YES" at that strikeout? It had to be pretty close if not in the booth.
I think it was Musgrove, they had one game the other day where you could hear the pitcher grunt on every delivery.
