Outlook Express on iPhone

My wife is currently unable to access her work email on her iPhone.  She insists she needs Outlook Express, which I told her is one of the mail options when setting up a new account.  She says she has tried this, but it doesn't work (someone at work told her the iPhone version is a "Lite" version and they need the "Full" version).

A quick Google search brought up an app called Inbox Pro, Outlook Edition for $6.99.  Before I spend that much for an app (which I'm willing to do if it's the right choice), does anyone here have a preferred app they'd recommend?

Currently, she has to go upstairs into my 8yo son's room to use his PC to check her work email from home as all of our other computers are Macs.  If she were able to use her iPad and/or iPhone, it would be a better solution (especially when we're out of the house).

She is in charge of scheduling pharmacists at dozens of locations and often needs quick access if someone needs time off - only a handful of floaters and they're assigned pretty quickly for sick days/vacations.

I've never used Outlook, so I'm completely lost.  I've been on Gmail since it started and haven't looked back since.

I have an iPhone 5s and use an app called Mail+ for Outlook.  It's fine, does the job, no issues.  IIRC it was $4.99.

I use this as well and I agree it is pretty good.  No complaints.

Is she talking about Outlook Web Access? There's no issues with full blown exchange on an iPhone, as you said you just do it through the Mail setup.

Even Outlook Web Access fully works through Safari on an iPHone. The last time I tried it on a Mac (which was awhile ago) then it was a "Lite" version.

Outlook Express is the devil of an app that Microsoft used to include (maybe still does??) on consumer PCs. It was a piece of crap.

the bolded is true, but it's painful and clumsy and I wouldn't recommend it except in an emergency. It's no big thing to get an app  that is custom-made for the iPhone that works with Outlook. Like I said, I like mine, but there are others.

The part about Outlook express is also true.  it's not the answer to anything,   especially in an  Apple environment, except for the question, "what is the thing that sucks?" I cannot believe that it is the only option, somebody must be missed communicating somewhere along the line.

It's also the answer to, "What has been obsolete since the release of Windows Vista in 2006?"

Is it possible that Mrs. Yaz4Ever has an email account on Outlook.com and mistakenly thinks she needs Outlook Express to connect to it?
