Napoli has been pretty good for the Sox. Besides, they can always bring him back, Hanley-style.
I guess the answer is "never because Cherington saved the team after Theo left it in ruins"?

Sorry if this is basic, but does anyone know which horizontal plane across home plate does k-zone (or Brooks baseball if jnai is reading) capture the location of the pitch?

Edit - meaning front, middle, or back of home plate?

I'm not positive but I think it's 3-D and the 2-D ball you see is where it enters the 3-D zone.

I've also been curious about the vertical part of the K zone. Does it adjust with each batter? I've never paid enough attention to it to notice.

I think it's marked manually by a dude watching on the center field camera, or at least how that's how pitchfx worked at one point. Not sure what k zone uses.

Sportsvision runs both systems, so I assume they are one in the same?

That K of Rizzo seemed to be a perfect example of a Catcher stealing strikes. IF Vazquez is anything like Yadier, I really hope that surgery is successful.

That's what the Red Sox are hoping. Vaz trains with the Flying Molina Bros. in the offseason.

Lester doesn't stop letting guys on base he'll only have one shot to get that first hit tonight.

That's just Ricardo.

I knew that Lester doesn't throw over that much, but I didn't know he never does. Is that a thing everyone knows? I feel let down by Don and Jerry.

Not sure how much they said it, but it's pretty well known.

Its almost incomprehensible that he didn't make one PO throw all last year.

I knew his throw overs were sloppy as shit. I just assumed I'd seen it more. Maybe it was just burned into the memory every time he did it.

Why run there? Good lord.

Heyward ripped one last time, he's your #2 guy, and you run on a lefty?

NL teams are dumb.

Well, the Genius has him hitting eighth to hopefully get in that extra attempt.

Would be more instructive to know the SB% against him, compared to other lefties.

The Bartman corner seems to have a gravitational pull on Cubs' batted balls through the first two innings' leadoff batters. Maybe it is their year.

This still makes me happy. However after spending some time with Kolten Wong in the offseason, it couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. But...it is what it is!!! Epic.
