One person said maybe.
I'm not talking about just about tis, so apologies. The sense of entitlement/persecution of the NE fanbase has become permeating. It's not specified here, so sorry if I lashed out here. I think it's a bit beyond the pale to think they're waiting for the presidential election to announce Cora coming back because it will otherwise be front healdline of the Washington Post. Carry on, again, apologies.

Sam Fuld is an interesting name. Wondering if he's being given serious consideration, or is Chaim just doing one of his former players a solid to legitmize him as a candidate for other teams. I'd like to see him brought into the organization if he doesn't get the top job (and he's a New England guy too).
Fuld’s name has already been linked to multiple jobs over the last couple of years. He’s definitely going to be a manager. He’s the new prototype. Young, smart, recently retired ballplayer, comes from the Rays tree. He was in charge of translating analytics into on-field performance under Kapler in Philly. There were stories back in his Rays days of him spending time with the front office. He would seem like a very comfortable fit for Bloom. He basically has one of these boy genius GM type pedigrees, except he could actually play baseball, too. Plus then you’d get some diversity with Yale AND Stanford being represented in management.

Sign me up for Sam Fuld, he was always entertaining as a player and did things the right way. He could have stayed at first on a hit at Fenway but instead turned it into a double which cost him the cycle. The game was a blowout win for the Rays and if he stayed at first nobody would have argued, but he dint want to disrespect the game. He also is an analytical guy which would be great and is a local guy. His teammates always loved him, I think he would be perfect.

Sounds like Fuld is a good candidate for some spot. But the thought of Joe Castig mentioning "Phillips Exeter" and "his mother was a state legislator" every game does not fill me with excitement.

Speier: Cora met with Sox brass last Friday
Former Red Sox manager Alex Cora met in person with Red Sox chief baseball officer Chaim Bloom and general manager Brian O’Halloran last Friday, according to two major league sources. Yet following that meeting, the likelihood that Cora returns to the role he occupied from October 2017 through January 2020 remains unknown.

##

The pace of the team’s search has thus fueled speculation both inside and outside the Red Sox organization that Bloom may want to bring on a new hire. But others believe that the absence of a decision is a reflection of an intentionally methodical, thorough process – one that would make it premature to dismiss or anticipate the possibility of a return by Cora.

Still others believe that there is no reason for the Red Sox to rush a decision given that there are no other managerial openings currently.

Heyman said he was going on MLBN to break Red Sox news, but maybe someone told him not to announce it yet so he deleted his tweet.

Nothing doing on mlbn.
They just said they will have an update on the RS managerial search from Heyman in about an hour. Doesn't sound like real news.

The show that is on now is a repeat of a show that was on this morning. Heyman basically said it's Cora or Fuld and no one knows what Bloom thinks.

If it's down to Cora and Fuld as Heyman suggests, this might be a staredown between Bloom and ownership. I've thought all along that Bloom had a particular target in mind that wasn't Alex Cora. Since Quatraro is apparently off-limits, Fuld makes all kinds of sense as that target. I don't think the team can really go wrong with either guy, but it'll be interesting to see how it shakes out,.

if it is I hope Bloom wins out and Fuld is hired. He seems like a perfect fit to what Bloom wants to do and the players will grow to love him as his teammates and former managers did. Fuld is the perfect fit for a growing team.

Cora would be pretty good, too. He's won what, half the WS titles he's been manager for?

However if Fuld is *not* hired let's not automatically assume that Bloom lost the hypothetical staredown.
