That's what she said.
Wanamaker back on a one year deal. Does that mean Edwards or Waters will go the route of an international draft and stash? Like Marcus Thornton a few years back?

That WCS contract is a head scratcher. He's good?
Is he? He's a good positional defender, but his offensive game isn't anything at all, he isn't a particularly good rebounder, and he isnt particularly young. Minimum seems about right for him.

Wonder what the Christmas games will be. Could be Raptors at Lakers and Rockets at Warriors if Kahwi goes to LA

Nets at Knicks Noon
Sixers at Celtics 2:30
Raptors at Rockets 5:00
Lakers at Warriors 8:00
Jazz at Blazers 10:30

My bet is:

Nets @ Celtics Noon
Bucks @ Raptors 2:30
Heat @ Sixers 5:30
Clippers v. Lakers 8:00
Blazers @ Warriors 10:30

Also can see Rockets @ Mavs, or Jazz @ Nuggets but I think NBA doesn't like those time zones/geo areas too much.

According to Marc Stein Demarcus Cousins is firing his agent. About a year or two too late there, Boogie.

Rumbings of Miami trying to trade for Brad Beal by also taking on the 4 years and $170 plus million that is John Wall's contract.
Putting aside the massive cap questions about how Miami enables this, if you were the Wizards would you do it for no assets back---or would you also want some value (picks, etc.)?

I'm honestly not sure--Wall is so hard to figure in terms of value/expectations---he's obviously very negative value on that contract, but if you imagine he's even a decent NBA starter once he's back then it's pretty hard to give up Beal. I imagine most here are so down on Wall and that contract they'd do the swap just to reset the deck....that may be right, I guess I'm not sure that's the optimal play. If you need to reset, isn't trading Beal for assets and just waiting for Wall to recover and playing it out wiser? You wouldn't be trying to win in that scenario anyway so if he doesn't come back...he's just part of your salary minimum.

They have to shed salaries NOW in order to get under the hard cap, so it's hard to imagine they can really afford Beal.

Separately, you could argue that this is where a smart, bad team could make some hay by serving as a third team in the deal to take on Wall in return for a couple of first-rounders (one from MIA and one from WAS), but his contract is sooooo bad. Taking on that contract really hamstrings you for years.

Ideally the Knicks would have kept room to facilitate stuff like this, because they’re far enough from contention that they can just do the NYC Process while the contract runs its course. They’re also spending money just to spend it.

But who am I kidding, they’re the Knicks.

Been kind of wondering about Boogie. Looked slow as molasses during the Finals, but he was both coming back from an injury and sustained a 2nd injury in the course of doing that. And he still showed some special offensive skills. I wonder if with the full off-season to truly recover he might be a real bargain next year.

Like Justice Winslow, Dragic, and Anderson (with a 100% guarantee) for Wall/Beal?
Yeah, think that gets there or close for matching, although does it put Miami over the apron? It also seems crazy for Washington to give away Beal to essentially get out of Wall's contract. I'd rather trade him for premium assets and then just suck it up with Wall during the subsequent rebuild. I guess if Miami raids more of its future cupboard WAS might go for it.

The Grizzlies are trading Kyle Korver and Jevon Carter to the Suns for DeAnthony Melton, Josh Jackson 2020 second-round pick and 2021 conditional second-round pick, league sources tell ESPN.

the suns really hate Josh Jackson.

2 number 4 picks in 3 years they got essentially nothing from.

They had 3 top 5 picks in 5 years and the best result by far was Alex Len. That franchise is a disaster

Well it's incorrect as the cap doesn't matter when re-signing your own free agents. The reality is that with Dario Saric taking over the PF spot, and then adding Cam Johnson to Booker, Bridges, and Oubre there just wasn't any playing time for JJ. What really surprises me is that they had to attach Melton and a pair of #2s to him just to get Jevon Carter.

Ryan McDonough, thanks for hiding Jackson away from Ainge. Was it WORTH IT?
It wasn't even necessary unless you think that Boston had Jackson #1 on their draft board (as Ainge said before the trade that they were confident that the guy they had #1 would still be there). Boston obviously wanted to bring JJ in for a better look in case LA came to its senses and passed on Ball. But that was about the extent of it.

Jalen Rose stated on ESPN just now he's 99% sure Kawhi Leonard is returning to Toronto on a 2-year deal, based on sources he's maintained contact with connected to Leonard's situation.
Here's the video of that: https://twitter.com/GetUpESPN/status/1146519168080121857
The two year deal is so he crosses the 10-year threshold and can get max money for his tenure. Not sure of the rules on all of that but that was Jalen's point.

Just listened to this on TSN as well; hosts figure it'll be a 1+1, but the point of a 2-year deal is to get him to the 10 years' service and earliest eligibility for the supermax.

Rose apparently was the first to call that Kawhi would never play for the Spurs again.

edit: I see I was beaten for both points, so I'll add this... hosts are surprised there would be any leaks of actual information, knowing how sensitive Kawhi is to having his private discussions leaked.
