I applied for an internal leadership course that seems to be a bit of an internal catapult for new managers like me. As the new corporation takes over more and more I figured anything I can do to pad the ol' resume can't hurt, and I'm hoping for a new position with the soon-to-be-coming Telehealth division. Hopefully I'm accepted to this class and hopefully it helps.
Good luck to you too!

My wife might be looking for a change soon. She is trained in about 6 or 7 Epic modules at this point, and while she makes good money, it is definitely on the lower end for her level at a NYC metro area hospital.

But her background is not IT. She was basically plucked from a low-level job more on the patient/admin side to become an Epic trainer and now analyst, so she definitely needed to build up some years on the job before it made sense to start looking around. Her supervisor just quit and it seems like a “hell breaking loose” situation. And she is not interested in pursuing that opening and the 12 hour days that seem to come with it (hence the quitting).

As an epic manager… yeah there are long days. I’m lucky to have a good team but mostly my job is asking “why isn’t this done”. I kind of miss the actual work.

I know you guys are in NY but we have an ADT/Grand Central/Cadence position open (two, actually), and apparently in about 2 weeks CPOE and OpTime/Anesthesia openings too…

I've got plumbers here today to install some shit. Took a dump, did not realize they cut the water to the entire house.

Oops.

When I was doing my remodel last year, we saved the toilet until the day that they were installing the new one since we lived there ( in the one room of the house that they weren’t touching) through it.

Anyway, I’m sitting on the toilet and this is right after demo and I can see through the floorboards where the tub used to be into the basement. I literally got dizzy and almost fell off the toilet. My entire balance was thrown off. It was crazy.

My washer started smoking a couple weeks ago. I guess it thinks smoking makes it look cool.
Well, it isn't wrong...

Fortunately the first appliance repair company I called, actually called back and they're coming monday morning. I think it's just a drive belt but what the hell do I know.

I ordered a new washing machine from Costco to replace my 30 year old Kenmore on Memorial Day. Status has been "order received" since then. Good to know.

We had thought of getting some things replaced before COVID hit. Appliances. We choose to hold on to some dollars during shut down. Not sure how things may work out. About 3 weeks ago we noticed a serious decline in cooling/ freezer performance. In our refrigerator . We contacted a local non big box store. Amazingly they some how found a unit that we would not have to wait 3-4 months to have installed. Also most models available would have required removal of cabinets. Instead We scored a unit that did not require any remodel work. Stainless steel. Energy Star compliant. Energy Star part qualified us to a $1,000 rebate due to a local program. Not really sure how that happened. I will take it. Talking to appliance retailers. Stuff is easily 4 to 6 months out.

That's nice! When my boiler and hot water heater blew back in March I was concerned that I might not be able to be particularly choosey with replacements, but fortunately the plumbing company had plenty.
