Maybe a few days premature but I'm giddy with anticipation to be in the stands on July 5th. This time I will be purchasing tickets well in advance probably as early as today once I can confirm my schedule out there. Hopefully, the clusterfvck seating situation to see Zion isn't the same as it was when half of the state of California seemingly showed up for Lonzo Ball which exposed the poor event planning by Warren LeGarie two years ago. For those who don't recall, the Thomas & Mack Center (18,000 capacity) and Cox Pavilion (2500 bleacher seating capacity) are under the same roof and ticket sessions are sold by the day with one ticket granting you access to all the days games at both venues. The first Laker game was completely sold out the night prior to see Lonzo which is awesome except that when there are 4 games in each arena with 20,500 people all wanting to fit into 18,000 seats not only would it leave 2500 disappointed but it also resulted in the other 75% of games being played in half empty or less settings despite thousands of people being turned away from purchasing tickets. I was one of those shutout from getting tickets without paying exorbitant resale asking prices and recall watching an earlier game in my hotel room televised from Cox Pavilion with about 300 people there thinking of how awesome it would be to be sitting in one of those empty spots a couple rows behind the teams benches.

I did notice that the "Legends Lounge" seating at $200/session is being added to the menu along with general admission and reserved seating ...…...if Bobby Huggins is not a permanent fixture in any setting branded as a "Lounge" I will be highly disappointed. I know we had several SoSHers out there the past few years...….are any other SoSHers going to be in Vegas this year?

Have fun HRB. I went last Summer and enjoyed it. The stands have more talent then is on the floor, but the players give full effort.

I paid an extra $100 (I think?) to sit courtside for several games, and thought it was worth it. Justified it by staying away from the tables in Vegas. Sat a few seats away from Ted Leonis and Grant Hill (announcer). Kerr/Myers roamed around behind the baskets. Lots of players, coaches, known NBA execs in the stands or chatting in the hallway between the arena and gym. Too many to name.

Its a collection of rookies, G-Leaguers, 2nd-year players, and Euro leaguers. When one player goes off, the arena gets buzzy, with the crowd rooting for him. I won't be going this Summer, but I'm sure you'll have a blast.

The Celtic team will be really fun. hmmmm, I may have to re-think my attendance. I have Carsen Edwards leading the team in ppg.

AVOID THE SLOTS/TABLES/THE RAKE!

C'mon out it's not too late!! Yeah, I had a great time three(?) years ago and experienced some of the things you mention here. I'll have to look back at those old SL threads tonight to see how much I've forgotten lol.

So you weren’t sitting next to Grant Hill the former NBA player? Lol.

ha, I meant Grant was announcing the game for NBAtv. The other NBA elite we're in the lower seats, roaming around the court, in the hallways or the food court between the arena and gym.

Also its just kind of strange to be sitting in a small gym (which is general admission), in bleacher seats 10ft away from Brad Stevens or Danny watching the Celtic Summer League team play games.

If your a hardcore fan, like most, are around here, it's a hoops fest.

These games are of terrible quality and yet I am watching. I have a serious problem...

Random observations:

30 year old Jimmer Fredette is looking at his last best shot at the NBA via the depleted Warriors. Unfortunately, he looks old, slow and not savvy enough. I am pulling for him regardless.

Keep an eye on Wenyen Gabriel. He is raw but if you squint you can see glimpses of an NBA three and D wing.

Kyle Guy has a lot of work to do if he is going to get any run in the NBA.

I feel like Jon Elmore is the type of guy who could absolutely light up summer league... and then probably head for europe to play and never be seen again. Way more fun roster than they had last year.

I'll be there probably on the 8th and 9th, was going to buy online, but I just checked and a general admission $35 ticket somehow comes to $55 after fees, that's crazy so hopefully by ZIon's 3rd game the crowds won't be so large that they sell out. General admission still gets you 2nd row in cox and something like the 4th row in thomas and mack, I've never seen the point to get the more expensive ones.

Maine product Nick Mayo with a 10/5/5 2 steal debut for the Miami team.

I thought he was an interesting prospect given his size, outside shot and production in the OVC, but he got no love on any mock draft sites and clearly went undrafted. Not an easy road, but hoping he can catch on somewhere.

Watched Spurs-Cavs game in SLC. It looks like Lonnie Walker is ready to take the next step. Eubanks and Samanic also played well for the Spurs. Windler shot well for the Cavs, but did not look good at the defensive end. No surprise there. Garland didn't play.

Just noticed that Chinanu Onuaku is on the SL squad. He’s undersized for a center, but he defended really well at Louisville, where he was the anchor of the best defensive team in the country. I liked him as a second round target. I think the Rockets took him and he never got an opportunity, but he still interests me a bit as a defensive big who can pass a bit. Plus he shoots free throws underhanded, which is fun.

Agree with Scottyno that Elmore could light it up as long as he doesn’t run into too many athletic defenders.

Its going to be fun. Napier and Doug Christie were the broadcast team for the California Classic last night and were observing how big the Las Vegas tourney is now so its also no surprise that the cost is pretty high. That said, I would be surprised if all of Zion's games aren't sell-outs.

Any Idea where I can watch SL online, after I cut the cable cord a few months ago?

I missed the end of that Sixers game, but man, Zhaire can fly. He has the crazy body control + explosiveness like Vince Carter or Zach Lavine. Thybulle, unsurprisingly, looks very good on D. Hopefully they follow the Ben Simmons shooting development curve.

Zion needs a top flight medical staff and nutritionist. Unfortunately the Pelicans have the worst in the league.

Zion will be eating beignets and jambalaya every day. He could be 300 pounds by Christmas.
Come on man, if you're gonna crap on a what seems to be a really good kid, at least be original.

Why be original when you can eat cajun? I didn't realize that you were so overburdened with jambalaya references.

The Pelicans crunch time strategy is now different than most other NBA teams. Just get the ball to the kid and let him throw it (not shoot it) in the bucket.

Zion just got his 3 pointer blocked - release/shot looked super slow...he seems to be able to dunk well so far
