Jrue rules. Totally forgot that his other brother was on Lonzo’s UCLA team. This is gonna be a league pass worthy team.

Frank Jackson taking advantage of his run and the fact that he is playing in a game versus a bunch of guys who will fight to make the G-league

It's halftime of his first summer league game...
Valid point but you can see how these guys are able to shoot when open (because most of these players don't yet know how to close out on NBA shooters), create space and turn a corner. If they aren't able to do those things against mostly sub-G-leaguers, they are in for a lot of trouble against even NBA bench guys.

Yeah, but I'm speaking more from a "Dude is probably a bit nervous right now" place.

Summer League Hot Take: Frank Jackson >>>Zion. The former is getting buckets and posterizing guys while the latter sits out the rest of the game with a knee bump and some extra weight.

Does Alonzo Trier ever pass the ball? This is playground stuff for the most part. Knicks are favored to win Summer league? I don't think so.

Gonna resume once speakers stop swaying.

I guess that makes sense--you can't really predict aftershocks.

And no offense, I know these are sports announcers, but the one dude (brain cramp on name) said he got text from colleague on 36th floor saying that building was swaying. Yes, that's what you want them to do in a quake. If they couldn't sway, they'd crumble. And Doris wondering if they can contact USGS to see what will happen going forward. Tough to predict quakes...

Mark Jones is the guy - he admitted this is his first quake. Vegas is approximately 240 miles from the epicenter.

Edit: downgraded to a 6.9

Yeah, I'm sure his heart is racing. And he just shared his daughter is in LA, so....

Doris saying "It was measured as 7.1 in LA, and that's 4 hours away, so you can imagine what it was like here". It's the same quake. It's 7.1 everywhere. It wasn't 7.1 in LA. It was 7.1 at epicenter.

EDIT: Again, I'm not being exactly fair. One thing I always noticed was when there was actual breaking news, and folks reading the news had to go live, that most of them really weren't good.

Doris is a very good broadcaster but she clearly doesn't understand the science of earthquakes.

That scoreboard moving is pretty freaky though...

FWIW the Dodgers are playing at home tonight and it doesn't appear game was disrupted.

Games in Thomas Mack Center postponed.

I'm in vegas and was out running at the time and didn't feel a thing. Kind of sucks for the people who paid insane amounts of money for the games today, though I guess they weren't going to see Zion anymore today anyway.

Thoughts and prayers. Not to those who shelled out a lot of dough only to see Zion stapled to the bench. But to you for running in Vegas and its 95 degree heat.

I'm in Vegas at our Airbnb house in Spring Valley. It was like a horror movie......first we see the blinds moving and look at each other. Then we feel the pounding as the chandelier begins swinging from the tremble. Scary shit.

I was just in Boston the last few weeks, if you run at night it's actually nicer than Boston was most of the time because of the humidity.

Now I feel like I somehow slept through the whole thing because I'm in spring valley too.

Somewhere
Reminds me that it's been a long time since I've endured a real earthquake (that would be Landers, all the way back in 1992). I missed everything serious for all my time >15 years on the west coast.
