Hockey's back!

Sens-Leafs at 7
Caps-Blues at 8
Canucks-Oilers at 10
Sharks-Knights at 10:30

Assuming everyone is running the Game Center preview for the next week or so so get it while it's free!

Hockey!

Gonna have to hope Sens/Leafs is competitive, not sure I’ll be able to watch the Blues/Caps.

Also, Oilers lineup tonight:

Nygard - McDavid - Neal
Draisaitl - RNH - Kassian
Granlund - Haas (?) - Chiasson
Khaira - Cave - Archibald

Insert sad McDavid face. Free McDavid.

Martin Jones has allowed a goal on the very first shot he’s faced in 4 of the last 5 season openers (including tonight). Amazing. (via @KKurzNHL)

The Vegas trainer was just 5 steps onto the ice during play before realizing play was still going on and running back to the bench

James Neal has a hat trick and it’s still the second period. Five goals on the season so far. Time to give Holland the Executive of Year Award.

Make that four goals tonight.

Lucic had 6 goals all of last season.

Flames get an extra 3rd in the deal if Neal scores 21+ and Lucic scores 10 or more goals less than Neal. Well on our way to that happening. What a great trade condition.

New Jersey. Woof. Lots of preseason hype after their busy offseason.

Home opener they jump out to a 4-0 lead against the Jets, blow it and lose 5-4 in a shootout. Then head to Buffalo and get waxed. 7-2. Next up was a 4-0 loss at Philly. They squeak out a point in a 4-3 shootout loss to the Oilers. Lost 3-0 to the Bruins on Saturday. Looking to get their first win of the season today they jump out to a 4-1 lead on Florida. It’s now 6-4 Panthers. Hynes has to be on the hot seat.

Blues blow late 2-0 lead to offensively challenged Isles and lose in OT. I hope that one point costs them a playoff slot.

What do you guys recommend as the best way to get NHL network and NBCSN if I'm cutting the cord? We just closed on our house yesterday and have internet coming soon, but I want to stay away from a $200+ bill.

This is true, however I'm trying to avoid the $200 cable bill.
nhl.tv is the league’s streaming service. It’s $145 right now for every game* or $115 if you wanted just the Bruins. I have it and love it because I’m a junky and can vouch for the product, I love it. Sub $200 for the entire season, if that fits your budget.

* I think you would be screwed on the NBCSN front, my guess is those aren’t included. Those can be streamed through the NBC app but you need to enter your cable provider information in first. I haven’t tried to stream an NBC game through nhl.tv but like I said I assume they get blacked out.

The Crosby goal is outstanding effort, the McDavid goal is blazing jets, but that Milano goal is unreal with two defenders on him.

YouTube TV gets you NBCSN but not NHL network

The second someone legally offers the way to pay one person one amount of money for a stream of every Bruins game in a season (with whatever advertisements they want to feed me during the breaks), its going to be an instant-purchase for me.

Thanks. I've been looking at it. Do you use it, and if so, is it pretty good quality? Looks like I have to go Orange + Sports to get it.
Quality is great...I thought I had Blue and that got me both, but maybe you need to add Sports to get NHL network. I run it through a $40 roku device and it’s fast and great picture.

That was an absolutely filthy sequence leading to that Guentzel goal.

What’s crazy is that TB had pressure in the O zone all before that and hit the post on an open net that everyone thought went in, then it went the other way and that happened.

A delayed follow-up, but wanted to ask the thread: is there a time in the season when the price drops? I'm thinking of mlb.tv, where the price goes down about halfway through the season. I want to subscribe and watch more Bs games, but also know I'll be really busy the next few weeks. If there's a standard scheduled price drop, I'll hold off.
