# of games it took the NBA to figure out how to guard the supposedly unguardable LeBron+AD pick-and-roll: zero.

Do you think that Kawhi even says one word to Danny Green? Like, does he even acknowledge that he played for years with him? Or does Green look at Leonard only to have a blank stare returned in his direction?

I bet its the latter - Kawhi wiped that part of his memory over the summer and all he remembers is Doc's plays, not to cut Beverley in the layup line and how to drive from the valley to Staples Center in less than 55 minutes.
The broadcast caught them chatting amicably after the game, so I guess he hasn’t reformat the entire hard drive (yet).

Lebron is great at getting his stats but he's going to need to cough the ball up to someone else if they want to be successful. He's too half assed most of the game to be the table setter.

The Clippers just looked awesome last night after a bricky first-quarter. Kawhi was basically unstoppable on offense and the Lakers had no answer for Williams coming off the bench. The Clippers are long, well-coached and play really hard, they are definitely the team to beat right now. When George comes back they should be dominant.

The Lakers didn't look very good to me, and their holes were obvious. They just have a bunch of guys in their rotation that you don't have any confidence in and I wonder they could all be traded at any point. Davis was very good but didn't come across as dominant. LeBron never seemed to be completely engaged in the game. There was a lot of talk in the off-season about LeBron feeling disrespected and he was going to come out flying to start the season, but it didn't feel like he really pushed himself last night. Kawhi put his fingerprints all over this game, but LeBron felt like just another guy on the court for most of the game.

Old Friend Terry Rozier off to a rough start.. 7/4/6 and a -18 in 30 minutes, spent all of crunchtime on the bench in favor of DeVonte Graham

Charlotte's P.J. Washington with a great first game. 27 points on 9-17 from the field including 7-11 from deep. And teammate Devonte Graham chipped in with a +14 BPM with 23 points including 6-7 from deep and 8 dimes. Charlotte still lost but if these kids play like this, they will not be an easy out and may well beat some of the the NBA's middle tier teams regularly.

Charlotte actually won that game; overcoming a monster performance from The Finnish Product, who had 35-17. I think Charlotte is going to be awful but it was a nice start to the season for them.

The Blake-less Pistons beat the Oladipo-less Pacers. Indiana may play Sabonis and Turner together, but neither of them could stop Drummond, who had 32 points and 23 rebounds. Luke Kennard with 30 off the bench as well.

You are correct and I was wrong. Gotta start learning how to read box scores.

This Denver Portland game is pretty good btw

No turnovers too, firt time that scoreline has ever happened. Also a nice +/-, the Nets didn't lsoe because of Kyrie, he was terrific.
Big time 3's down the stretch of regulation to get the game to OT. I watched a decent amount of this game.....Kyrie was in NBA Finals mode for one night anyway.

That's what she said.
Scary Terry outplayed, and sat down for, by his backup on his Charlotte debut night.

Jokic gets 3 fouls early and plays four minutes in the first half. Cool officiating! Give the first team all NBA'r some respect.

Coach's challenges were talked about more than they were used.

Nice to see Markell Fultz have a good night.

Luka Magic is real.

Tyson Chandler must think he has found the fountain of youth. A steady diet of alley-oop dunks from Harden and Westbrook off the pick-and-roll will take years off his heavy beard.

Paul did some things really well for Houston, but Westbrook adds such a different dynamic pushing the ball down the court and freeing up shooters, it makes them a different team. Not sure if it makes them better, but different.

Hawks look good. ET was such a good under the radar acquisition to lead their second team. This team is going to give some team fits in the first round of the playoffs.

Ben McLemmore playing major minutes for Houston might be a problem, although he has played well so far. These no-d guys who just want to shoot as much as possible must LOVE playing for D’Antoni.

Harden and Westbrook are both shooting like shit and yet Houston is still up by ten because they are both so good at other things; they might both end up with triple doubles tonight.

Anyone that can’t at least appreciate Westbrook and what he brings to the game is living a sad life. He’s just a maniac.

Would love to know the last time the reigning MVP followed out of the opener.
On like, an unbelievable soft call.

Earlier in the game D’Antoni challenged a blocking call that turned into a charge against Giannis. I made fun of him for challenging a call so early in the game but it may pay off big.

So Giannis fouls out with five minutes to go, so what does D’Antoni do? He takes out Capela to go small, but now Houston has no one to guard Lopez, who gives Milwaukee a target in the block and proceeds to score basket after basket down the stretch.

Pretty cool to see Carlos Santana playing the national anthem prior to the Warriors-Clippers game.

He does this pretty regularly. He also does the anthem for Giants games as well. He is the Bay Area version of James Taylor but much, much cooler.

TNT with the shot clock graphic actually on the floor? Where players move in front of it?

Kawhi just had a sick pass to Zubac. I have no question which player I would start a team with right now. And as much as I like him, its not Zubac.

The guy is a legend. I saw him play at Neil Young’s Bridge School Benefit maybe eight years ago and his energy was fantastic. Didn’t realize he sometimes plays the anthem for Giants games. I’ve been to a bunch of their games but to be honest I’m not sure I ever got to any of them prior to the start of the game.

Meanwhile, the Warriors literally couldn’t buy a basket for the first several minutes but have come storming back. They can put up points quickly. This should be a very good game.
