I never read his stuff. Was he any good?

Gerry Callahan seemed to like him, so I'm not rushing out to read his older stuff

I never liked much of his stuff. Most of what I read, I didn't realize it was him and read it by accident. I haven't read him in a long time since Boston.com is a complete wasteland at this point and not worth visiting ever.

Basic news premise, throw in some jokes, speak for the common fan perspective etc. It was very much a poor man's Bill Simmons without the constant pop culture references. Many of his blogs would qualify him for the Army of the Unfunny.

Ha, i forgot you were even on Boston.com, I thought it was all Globe at this point. I go to your stuff through your Twitter feed. My apologies Mr. BBWAA.

Boston.com is a mess though unless I want to view slideshows of New England's Best Ice Cream Places (which has been the same for the last 8 years) or the Hot Takez of "Why American Employees feel so bummed on the Sunday Night Blues" article today.

Henry's done a great job of driving people to the pay for version of the site.

Which brings up the question how hard it must be to get fired from a website whose primary objective is to suck.

Depends. How much was he making? And how big is the non-tenure salary pool for Globe sportswriters? I'd prefer they pay Finn, Speier and Gasper.

If Eric Wilbur next? I always confuse the two of them. Neither are spectacular and seem to fill the CHB void of the .com by playing in the shallow end of the pool.
