It's official on Tyler Wade. He will be activated tomorrow and will be on the 25-man roster for the Yankees.

Sanchez caught his first rehab game today in AAA and blasted a HR off an also rehabbing Ervin Santana, he is scheduled to be back for NY's next game on Friday.

Gleyber is just a few days behind him, he has gone to Tampa to get in some rehab games and is scheduled to be activated when NY goes to Tampa a week from tomorrow (7/23). I thought I had read that he would attend the All-Star game since he was selected, not sure if that is still happening or not.

Yeah, after I posted that I read he took BP in Cleveland today, so presumably he’ll head to Tampa after Tuesday.

Meanwhile in AAA, Clint Frazier was evidently feeling a bit light-headed before the game, dove and missed a ball in the OF in the first inning, and then was removed with possible concussion symptoms, also known as “I don’t want to be tradeditis”.

Domingo German has ‘ulnaritis’, shut down for 10 days and day to day after that. That’s a big relief since it looked yesterday like he had blown out his arm.

J.A. Happ becomes the second MLBer to come down with hand, foot, and mouth disease. Will probably make start against Sox.

Biological warfare is banned since 1925 Geneva Protocol, but the Evil Empire is apparently not a signatory.

Jonathan Loaisiga pitched in his first game since going out July 2, just 1 2/3 innings in the GCL but still a positive step.

CC onto the DL with right knee inflammation, hopefully it's a short-term thing but no news yet as to severity.

This is why the kept Gray.
But it shouldn't be, he has a 8 ERA at home and they have at least three better alternatives in the minors. I think they kept him solely because Cashman thinks he can trade him for more in the winter than he could at the deadline, we'll see.

If that's just 10 days, not the worst thing in the world, Didi could use some rest. Gleyber moves to SS, Torreyes and Wade can split 2B.

Also if they would go ahead and trade for a damn OF already (hello Curtis Granderson), Walker would be freed up to play more 2B.

I sincerely commend the Yankees fans on this site for not using injuries as an excuse (as opposed to Brett Gardner, quoted in the NY Post: "We have dealt with injuries, have the toughest schedule and the worst travel."). I was curious about how impactful injuries have been this season and my first google search revealed this chart that appears to account for the value lost for each injury. In it, the Angels' injuries have had the most impact, the Red Sox #8, and the Yankees #12 (Astros the least affected). Interesting.

Jack Curry tweet:

Today is Judge's 27th day on D.L. w/ fractured right wrist. He has yet to swing a bat. Yesterday, Cashman indicated the injury, which initially had a 3-week timetable, now has a 6-week or 7-week timetable. 6 weeks would mean a Sept. 6 return while 7 weeks would mean Sept. 13

Judge himself said he was told the fracture takes 4-6 weeks to heal and they will wait the full 6 weeks before he's swinging. Figure another week or two after that to get back into battle-ready shape. We're not winning the division so please, give him an extra 10 days.

Chapman to the 10 day DL with tendinitis in his left knee that he has apparently had all season. Short term this doesn't matter too much, but it will be interesting to see if this has any impact on his velocity when/if he comes back later in the seaosn. He's seeing heading to New York tomorrow to see a doctor.

Chapman is at his best when he pitches three or four times in a week, after a bunch of days off he always takes time to get back to his peak velocity. This is what has made the knee thing especially tricky to handle with him, his knee is better with less work but his arm is better with more (to a point, obv).

Sanchez will play rehab games in Scranton all next week starting Monday, hoping to bring him on the West Coast trip starting a week from Monday.

Clint Frazier is back and in the high A Tampa lineup! They have a doubleheader today, he is already 1 for 2, a sharp single to CF.

Ironic thing is he'll probably make it back just as Judge does when if he was healthy Frazier would be getting the bulk of playing time in the corner outfield spots. Clint cannot seem to catch a break.

I think he’ll beat Judge back by a week or two, but yeah, terrible luck for Frazier this season.

Cashman says no timetable on Chapman or guarantee for him to return this season. Sounds like even if he and Judge are back for the playoffs they might be playing through injuries.

I might jump to that conclusion two weeks from now, but I think right now they're just not sure. Here's the full Cashman quote on Chapman:

“I can’t tell you with a level of confidence or not. I know he’s going through the motions now of getting the treatment necessary and until we see him out there doing what he’s done in the past like he’s capable of doing it, it’s probably best for me to be cautious on that.”
