I think this is the key. Getting suckered has happened historically in the NHL. The most famous brawl in league history got its start from a sucker punch, and the only reason that guy was thrown out was because the sucker punch broke Hamel's eye. Another way to look at it is there is a set of penalties for punching each other, but there's always been a thing about spitting.Yeah it's not even close for me. Getting spit on is disgusting and vile and degrading.
