ex-Laker refuse getting walloped by Steph & Co.

Pelicans down 3 starters and it shows.

Brandon Ingram still working on that Hall of Fame career according to the announcers.

Atlanta will lose a lot of games in the 4th QT making young player mistakes.

The NBA has an attendance problem. These arenas have a ton of empty seats.

Atlanta has always had an attendance problem. It’s probably because they play too much hip hop in the arena and that turns away white fans.

Lillard scores the Blazers last 18 points but comes up short with two missed threes in the last minute as the Spurs beat the Blazers 113-110 in San Antonio. He finishes with 28 points, nine boards and seven assists while CJ McCollum added 27 points.

Portland is a popular regression pick, especially with the retooling of their bench but these two guys are currently the best backcourt in basketball - and Stotts is a very good coach. He will get the most out of guys like Hood, Whiteside, Labissiere, Simons etc. They remain a dangerous club - especially if Nurkic can come back by the stretch run.

Also, the Warriors had a good bounce-back win in New Orleans this evening on the back-end of a B2B. Damion Lee, Jordan Poole and Glen Robinson 3.0 all chipped in with scoring tonight in addition to Curry and D Lo. I think a team that has Curry, Green and Russell as well as Looney (when he returns) can still make the playoffs but its just so early.

Took Lillard 28 shots and 8 free throws to come up with 28 points. Context matters.

I put this one on Lloyd Pierce. If he had managed his timeouts better, Atlanta would have had a much better chance to tie or win the game after Embiid's two free throws.

What did boggle my mind was Trae Young passing up open threes (did he take even one in the second half?) to get the ball to Alex Len, of all people, who missed repeatedly on treys from the corner in Q4.

Entirely fair however I would add that for players who are typically relatively efficient, a bad night is essentially noise.

More to the point, the Blazers live and die with Lillard and McCollum shooting, efficient or not. I know some people think that is an issue and I am inclined to agree. But Stotts wants Dame shooting whether he is making them or not.

Yikes, he has been shooting lights out these first 4 games. BUT I can describe his defense with one word: Ole'
Ingram looked really good matched up defensively when they switched up him over to play Porzingis in the Pels-Mavs game. Only time I've seen him play and given the overall defensive #s for the Pelican so far I don't doubt that's an outlier. Still, Ingram is really talented and may be breaking out.

Baynes fouls out up 90-86 with 3 minutes to go and the Suns completely fall apart on both ends.
Didn't see game but looking at box score. It went....Baynes fouled out, Kaminsky replace him, Utah makes 3 consecutive dunks. This Phoenix team is a legit playoff contender they are really good. Funny what happens when you replace JJ, Chriss, and Bender with actual NBA players like Oubre, Baynes, Rubio, Saric, and Tyler Johnson around Booker.

Hard to see that as a path to actually contending though. Not that the lottery route was getting them there either.

Contending? The Suns went from being the Miami Dolphins with Booker and zero prospects to a playoff contender with a young core overnight. They are a few bounces away from being 4-0.

Surrounding Booker with league average veterans might get you to the playoffs, but isn't going to make you a championship contender, which I would think is the goal of any franchise. That was my point.

Maybe they're happy not being at the bottom of the standings. It is a big improvement over where they were.

I'll pretend I didn't hear that

We'd give our front teeth to have Baynes as our 5.

Trae just rolled his ankle badly. Hopefully it’s nothing too serious, he’s been a blast to watch for the upstart Hawks.

Anthony Davis's shoulder is bothering him tonight. He's playing, but it's clearly bothering him.

I'd agree that he'd be a good fit on the C's, but he's still a 20-25 minute role player.
I trust Danny/Brad/Zarren will have the Center role, players, and rotation figured out by Jan 1

Would love someone like AB for 20mpg, but truth be told the spread between Baynes and Theis production isn't that great

Dallas edges Denver, primarily because their bench handily out played Denver's. Denver's starters, all double digit + on the night, bench all double digit -'s. Maybe they should try mixing the two instead of throwing the game away.

Not sure what your point is. Should they have kept rolling with JJ and Bender? I also wholeheartedly disagree with every owners goal of winning a championship. When you are the Suns of these past few seasons it is a huge win to be competitive to generate some excitement again. The Hornets and Knicks have been trying for a decade to get where the Suns got overnight.

My guess is that Denver had this as a schedule loss after having to play in Sacramento on Monday night. I watched the end of the Nuggets/Kings game and it was particularly grueling so Denver not playing well on the follow is no surprise.

It’s also easier to acquire someone in a trade or make use of a young player who pops if you have a solid, if unspectacular, base. Toronto is the best recent example of this.

IT has 17 and 9 up on the Rockets. It's awesome seeing him back.

Edit: thought it was over based on the high score.

Washington is a bad team, but they have a collection of interesting young guys that could turn into players. Bryant, Hachimura, Mo Wagner, Bonga, Troy Brown Jr. Throw in Beal and a rejuvenated IT and they are fun to watch.

Harden with 59, Rockets survive.

Huchimura might be a player.

Yeah that might be a record for fastest time anyone has ever been down by 30.
